A scholar in the Faculty of Education, has imprints in many aspects related to the German language, managed with his effort to obtain German translation licenses, and important awards, his interest in studying science and in the language in which he chose to excel did not prevent him from developing many other hobbies in which he left an impact ...He is Dr. Salah Helal, Assistant Professor of German Literature and Philosophy at the Faculty of Education, Ain Shams University.

His beginnings

He began his scientific career, proving his superiority, and obtained a Bachelor of Arts and Education specializing in German language with a general degree with distinction, to rank first in his well-deserved class in 1992, then he obtained an international license for teaching German as a foreign language from the Goethe-Institute Munich with a general grade with distinction in 1996, and after three Years later, he obtained a master's degree in teacher preparation, specializing in German language. The subject of his thesis was the struggle of the individual in crowd society in the writings of the writer Elias Kanti.

He completed the progression journey to obtain a higher diploma in German language proficiency at the mother tongue level (GDS) from the Goethe-Institut Munich with distinction in 2002, and in the following year he obtained a doctorate in teacher preparation, specializing in German language.

In conjunction with the scientific path in which Helal walked, he has been working as a teacher of modern German literature at the Faculty of Education, Ain Shams University since 2003, and as a free translator, interpreter, and free reviewer, until he obtained the degree of Assistant Professor in German Literature and Philosophy in 2011.

During this honorable work, Hilal studied German language sciences, literature and translation, in addition to psychology, fundamentals of education and comparative education at the Faculty of Education, Ain Shams University. He studied ancient and modern German literature, literary criticism, translation and Islamic sciences at the University of Bonn in Germany, and participated in many projects to develop curricula and teaching methods. literature, civilization and translation. In addition to his participation in many seminars, conferences, and workshops held in Germany and Egypt in the fields of translation, teaching foreign languages, intercultural dialogue, interreligious dialogue, and the development of legal and judicial systems. He also participated in many translation projects, curriculum development, and methods of teaching literature and civilization.

Dr. Helal translated for many great writers such as Max Weber, Jan Assmann, Heinrich Wilhelm Scheffer, Rainer Maria Rilke, Christa Wolf, Elias Kante, Navid Kermani, and Nicole Ljubitsch.

His Rapid progress

His excellence and the quality of his work qualified him to translate for many international and local bodies such as the German Information Center of the German Foreign Ministry, the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation, the Goethe Institute, the German Academic Exchange Service, and others.

Thus, Helal's majors varied in contemporary German literature, literary translation from and into German, translating and editing journalistic texts, teaching German as a foreign language, simultaneous translation from and to German, in addition to intercultural dialogue.

Helal was able, through his various skills and extensive knowledge, to supervise many master's and doctoral dissertations in Egypt and Germany, and to contribute to the joint master's study at the Center of Excellence for Teaching German and Arabic Languages at the Faculty of Education, Ain Shams University, in cooperation with Leipzig University / Germany, in addition to managing cultural seminars in Egypt and Morocco, and the local and international arbitration of studies, academic degrees, and literary and specialized translations for universities and publishing houses far from him, in addition to his membership in the Union of Egyptian Writers, and the Union of Arab Translators.

In addition to all this work, Helal did not neglect his hobbies in writing poetry, short stories and novels, in addition to photography.
