A workshop for the manufacture of protective supplies for doctors and nurses at Ain Shams University Hospitals
Within the framework of the university’s efforts to bridge the university’s deficiency of preventive supplies for doctors and nursing, the sewing workshop was directed at university hospitals to meet the needs of university hospitals, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Matini, President of Ain Shams University and Dr. Ashraf Omar Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Executive Director of Ain Shams University Hospitals, supervised by Prof. Dr. Samia Abdou, Deputy Director of University Hospitals and Director of Infection Control.
Prof. Dr. Samia Abdo indicated that the university since 2015 includes a tailoring workshop affiliated to Ain Shams University Hospitals that handles the hospital needs of surgical brushes for different types of surgeries, sterilization paper and upholstery for hospitals and during the current crisis of the new Corona virus increased the needs of hospitals with a shortage of these requirements in the market then went to improve quality of service for this workshop in an attempt to cover the largest number of hospital supplies besides the production of unilateral protective masks, covering a large part of our needs.
Prof. Dr. Samia Abdo indicated that the hygiene rules are followed with the workers from wearing masks during production operations, pointing out that the university includes two workshops, one in university hospitals and the other in Ain Shams Specialist Hospital.
Dr. Samia Abdo called everyone to rationalize the consumption of preventive medical supplies, especially gags, while working on rational use at a time when they are needed in order not to cause any shortages that may lead to a failure to provide the special needs of doctors and nursing.
