Th sector committees of the Supreme Council of Universities play an important role in the higher education system in Egypt. It constitutes a basic pillar for ensuring the quality of education and its development and works to achieve the goals of the Supreme Council of Universities in various fields.

These committees participate in drawing up general policy for higher education by preparing and expressing opinions on draft laws, regulations and decisions related to higher education, in coordination with other concerned parties. It also works to periodically review and develop curricula and educational programs to ensure that they keep pace with the latest scientific developments and the needs of the labor market. It contributes to evaluating the quality of education in Egyptian universities through field visits and evaluating the performance of faculty staff, curricula, and infrastructure, discussing the problems facing higher education and working to find solutions to them, in cooperation with other concerned parties. In addition to enhancing cooperation between Egyptian universities in various fields, such as exchanging experiences and scientific research.

The Council unanimously decided to adopt the nomination and comparison criteria to select the chairs, deputies, secretaries and members of the university education sector committees for the new session 2024-2027.

Based on the above, nominations for professors are open for membership in sector committees in the new session 2024/2027 in the following fields:

First: The Interdisciplinary Studies and Professional Qualifications Sector Committee.

Second: Specialized fields:

The field of Arts and Humanities, which includes the following sector committees:

Literary Studies Sector Committee, Educational Studies Sector Committee (includes faculties: Education, Specific Education, Early Childhood Education, Art Education, Music Education), Antiquities Sector Committee, Arts Sector Committee.

The field of social sciences and administration, which includes the following sector committees:

Social Service Sector Committee, Sports Sciences Sector Committee (Faculties of Physical Education), Media Studies Sector Committee, Legal Studies Sector Committee, Economics and Political Sciences Sector Committee, Tourism and Hotels Sector Committee, Commercial Studies Sector Committee.

The field of life sciences and medicine, which includes the following sector committees:

Medical Studies Sector Committee, Dentistry Sector Committee, Nursing Sector Committee, Pharmaceutical Studies Sector Committee, Physiotherapy Studies Sector Committee, Veterinary Medicine Sector Committee.

The field of natural sciences - engineering and technology, which includes the following sector committees:

Engineering Studies Sector Committee, Computer Sciences and Informatics Sector Committee, Agricultural Studies Sector Committee, Basic Sciences Sector Committee.

The applicant must hold the position of professor.

The applicant must not be holding an administrative position within the educational institution to which he belongs or similar at the time he applies for candidacy for membership in the planning committees.
