Symposium on herbal medicine and complementary medicine at Ain Shams University

The Department of Community Service and Environmental Development of the Faculty of Girls, Ain Shams University, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Rokia Shalaby, dean of the faculty, during the cultural season of the faculty, organized the symposium "Herbal Medicine and Complementary Medicine". Prof. Dr. Abdel Baset Mohamed Sayed, Professor of Biochemistry at the National Research Center lectured in the seminar.

Prof. Dr. Abdel Basit began his speech by saying that alternative medicine has been attracting the attention of the world since 1965, when the world started to return to nature, especially that the medicine of chemicals often cure the symptoms. Consequently, ordinary diseases have become chronic diseases; referring to the report of the World Health Organization, one billion people suffer from drug interactions and negative side effects.

He added that Chinese heritage and Chinese medicine took its origins from the Arab-Islamic heritage.

He then introduced a number of alternative medicine recipes

For treatment of some psychological diseases, "with the hearth or the clap of the saints." To treat coarseness, sorrel and cresses with a glass of milk and the use of cold olive oil prevents the spread of cancer cells and fennel with the black bean to treat gout.

 

At the end of the meeting, Dr. Mai Helmy gave the shield to Dr. Abdel Basset Mohamed.
