Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, received a delegation from the Huawei company that includes both Eng. Yousry Atlem, Deputy Director of Huawei, Eng. Asma Siraj, Director of Training of the Company, and Engineer Mazen, Director of the Academic Sector of the Company, to discuss the strategy Pursued by Huawei, which is in line with the country's general strategy for digital transformation and the trend towards training young graduates and university students to achieve the nationwide digital transformation system, which began between 2018 and 2019.
The meeting also witnessed an agreement to develop a cooperation strategy between the company and the university that includes larger sectors than the colleges, either with which they have previously cooperated, such as the College of Computers and Information, or with which they will cooperate, such as the College of Agriculture, Commerce, Engineering and Medicine.
During the meeting, representatives of Huawei company praised the trainees of Ain Shams University, stressing that the largest number of trainees they have are from Ain Shams University, and the university was also honored after it won the first place in training last year in October 2019, and students were honored by the Minister of Communications, Professor Omar Talaat And Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education, in the presence of the Chinese ambassador, which reflects the extent of interest in training young Egyptian graduates within Huawei
It is noteworthy that the training at Huawei company deals with the comprehensive system of digital transformation that includes cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and various fields in the world of digital transformation.
Ain Shams University won the first place at the level of the Republic in terms of number and performance, and the honor will be in the month of October, and the company invited the president of the university to participate in one of these meetings.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Ashraf Omar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University, Prof. Dr. Nagwa Badr, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Galal, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Khaled Kadri, Dean of the Faculty of Business, and Dr. Yasmine Afifi, the company’s coordinator at the faculty.
