The President and Vice President of Ain Shams University open the welcoming day for the expatriates

Within the framework of Ain Shams University's keenness to integrate foreign students with their peers within the Ain Shams University family, and to remove any obstacles that may prevent their integration with their fellow students, the Expatriate Welfare Department at Ain Shams University organized a welcome day for international students, under the patronage of Prof. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University And the supervision of Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, today welcomes international students through video conference technology, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of International Relations and Academic Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Sherwat Al-Ahmadi, Director of the Expatriates Department, visiting professors, gentlemen Facultys' vice presidents for education and student affairs, and expatriate care officials in the university’s various faculties.

Where Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, welcomed the incoming students to study at Ain Shams University, pointing out that the current conditions that the world is going through in light of the Covid-19 virus have cast a shadow over education in all countries of the world, including Egypt, so Ain Shams University has gone for distance education, using advanced technologies. This necessitated the development of infrastructure and information, as well as the trend of hybrid education, which is a mixture between attending lectures and distance education.

His Excellency affirmed that Ain Shams University has prepared for all possibilities regarding the academic process in light of the Covid-19 virus, indicating that the university aims to have 5% of its arrivals within two years in order to enrich academic exchange and experiences, in addition to the importance of communicating with the Department of Expatriates and the Coordinators All faculties for any suggestions or ideas.

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini gave some advice to the expatriate students about the measures to be taken regarding the Covid-19 virus in terms of constantly disinfecting hands, maintaining the spacing between students, noting that periodic counseling seminars will be held in cooperation with the infection control team in Ain Shams University hospitals in cooperation with the Faculty of Nursing in all The faculties of the university, in addition to providing masks and disinfectants in specific places in the university's faculties, and his Excellency explained that the student who may feel any symptoms should not attend the Faculty and contact the Ain Shams virtual hospital, and at the end of his speech he wished him sovereignty to all for a happy academic year.

Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saud, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, expressed his happiness with the selection of students to Ain Shams University, which is ranked among the best 800 universities in the world, adding that the study programs in Ain Shams University faculties are ranked between 200-450 globally, which means that studying at Ain Shams University will have the great impact on your future life, as demanded by Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saud, the international students, to integrate into the student community to exchange cultures and visions, which will benefit all students of Ain Shams University.

Dr. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of International Relations and Academic Cooperation, explained that Ain Shams University is one of the largest universities in Egypt for the distinction of its professors and academic programs, calling on foreign students to make the most of this age stage scientifically and practically, as the university study stage has a great role in the formation of personality.

Prof. Dr. Sherwet Al-Ahmadi, Director of the Expatriates Department, reviewed the various activities carried out by the Expatriate Department, in addition to introducing students to the university, noting that welcome meetings will be held at the various faculties of the university to introduce each student to his faculty and its capabilities, receive and accommodate students, as well as provide academic support and ways to communicate with the coordinators of the arrivals department present at university faculties.

The student Caricio Akama from the Faculty of Law from South Sudan gave a speech in Arabic and the student Shevani Satyam from the Faculty of Medicine in Nepal delivered a welcome speech in English for the new students. The meeting also included introducing Ain Shams University, conducting a competition that includes questions about the history of Ain Shams University, the famous places in Egypt, as well as responding to all their inquiries, in addition to introducing the various activities offered by the university and how to participate in them.
