Under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud Al-Matini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Hisham Temraz, Acting Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, the activities of the conference organized by the Middle East Research and Future Studies Center at Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Ashraf Moanis, Director of the Middle East Research Center, entitled "One hundred years since the establishment of Banque Misr 1920-2020 AD" And in the presence of Professor Hassan Soliman, Director of Banque Misr Branch at Ain Shams University, and Professor Ashraf Al-Sharif, Director of Banque Misr Museum, Prof. Ali Abdel Aziz, former Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy Prof. Hisham Tamraz stressed the importance of Banque Misr as the first Egyptian bank wholly owned by Egyptians, referring to the pioneering role of Talaat Harb as one of the most important symbols of the Egyptian economy, which established more than 20 Egyptian companies, and added that Banque Misr has cooperative relations with Ain Shams University, where it contributed to many projects At university.

The conference dealt with the history of Banque Misr, the cultural and political role of Talaat Harb, the role of Banque Misr in Egypt's industrial renaissance, Banque Misr documents, the role of Banque Misr, Arab economic development and the Egyptian economy, the economic role of Banque Misr and the banking liquidity crisis in 1939.

The conference also dealt with the role of Banque Misr in achieving economic development in Egypt within a hundred years and its role in promoting social responsibility and its management of many national projects.

The conference included two scientific sessions, chaired by Prof. Ashraf Moanis, Director of the Middle East Research and Future Studies Center, and the second session was chaired by Prof. Muhammad Abdel-Wahhab is Professor of Modern and Contemporary History at the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, and Head of the Political Studies Division at the Center.
