Out of the keenness of Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini in preserving its members, the university continued the vaccination campaigns against the Covid-19 virus that began on the ninth of last February with the AstraZeneca and Cinopharm vaccines between a first and a second dose, under the supervision of Prof. Ashraf Omar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board of Directors, Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Executive Director of University Hospitals, Prof. Dr. Samia Abdo, Deputy Director of University Hospitals and Director of the Infection Control Unit.
As the Hospital Infection Control Department handles the vaccination, the vaccination of doctors and nursing staff who directly deal with cases of Covid-19 in isolation hospitals (transit - field - elderly) in the first phase has started, and medical staff (emergency, intensive care, internal medicine, surgery and children) have been vaccinated in the first phase. Prof. Dr. Samia Abdo, Deputy Executive Director of Hospitals and Director of the Infection Control Department, said that the total number of recipients of the anti-virus vaccine, Covid-19, so far is 2,616, of whom 1784 are doctors and faculty members, 131 in the Faculty of Dentistry, 28 in the Faculty of Pharmacy, 321 are interns, 99 in the Faculty of Nursing in addition to a number of other groups, they numbered 253, and vaccinations are being completed.
