The Faculty of Arts honors Major General Hesham Al-Halaby, the advisor at the Nasser Military Academy, in celebration of the Sinai Liberation Anniversary

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Mortada, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Hanan Kamel, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, hosted Major General Staff of War Hesham Al-Halaby, advisor at Nasser Higher Military Academy, and honored him with the faculty’s shield at the opening of the educational seminar organized by the Youth Welfare Department and members of the Cultural Committee of the Student Union, in the context of the faculty’s celebration of the 39th anniversary of the liberation of Sinai.

It was under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Mortada, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Hanan Kamel, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs and the implementation of Nemat Khalifa, Director of Youth Welfare Department, and members of the Cultural Committee of the Students' Union.

The seminar entitled “Liberating Sinai between War and Peace,” included a historical presentation of the reasons for Israel's occupation of Sinai in 1973, the mechanisms of victory, and peace attempts before and after the 1973 war, stressing the ability of the Egyptian army to overcome the difficult conditions it faced with unconventional solutions, through Dependence on pumping water to demolish the Bar-Lev Line, as Major General Al-Halabi reviewed a video of clips from the words of the late President Anwar Sadat after the glorious victory, and how he managed, with his wisdom and military, political and diplomatic professionalism, to break the Israeli security theory and destroy it in six hours using the concept of smart power.

Major General Al-Halabi presented a number of photos and videos that highlight the capabilities that the United States provided to Israel after the war, which made the liberation of Sinai more effective using peace and negotiation than war through achieving the equation of military force.

Al-Halabi stressed that whoever takes the causes will be helped by God, as the army is the protective shield for the nation through its wise move under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

Al-Halabi urged students to arm themselves with knowledge as the most important factor in leadership and achieving goals.
