The president and vice-presidents of Ain Shams University attend the opening session of the ninth scientific conference

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, witnessed the activities of the opening session of the ninth Ain Shams University scientific conference, which will be launched this year under the title "Fourth Generation Universities between Reality and Ambitions," in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research and Vice President of the Conference, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, the conference will be held from the sixth to the eighth of this April.

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University and the President of the Conference, confirmed that the university conference this year is witnessing a new breakthrough that supports innovation paths in various disciplines, pointing out that the world's universities have gone through stages of continuous development and innovation over the past twenty years, and local and regional competition has become The international reality is a reality in which we all live in a healthy climate that is in the interest of the main product of universities, which is the quality of the university graduate and his readiness for unprecedented labor market variables within the framework of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and an information revolution that does not allow an opportunity and leaves no place except for the distinguished, the brightest, the innovators and the future visions.

         
   
         

He added that this thought is what pushed the university to work to make this year's conference more distinguished and more comprehensive, through close cooperation with all universities, educational and research bodies and centers in Egypt, the region and the world at large.

Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, indicated that the allocation of the first day of the conference’s activities to the education and students sector confirms the university’s constant endeavor to support its students and push them towards activating a new philosophy based on participation and competitiveness, which are the basis on which the fourth generation universities are built.

He praised the university students who today presented simulation models for each of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ain Shams University Council.

He also appreciated the efforts of the University's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, which has had a tangible impact in various sectors and all the university's faculties, pointing out that the conclusion of the activities of the first day of the conference will witness the announcement of the winners of prizes totaling 70,000 pounds for students participating in the competitions.

Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research and Vice President of the Conference, explained that the fourth generation of universities allows interaction in learning for those outside the university walls on the same level of equality with regular university students inside the lecture halls, stressing that our goal is to reach the global level of Through the link between the university and the needs of the community.

It is noteworthy that the conference discusses, over the course of three days, many topics during its sessions in various sectors.

The basic sciences sector includes 4 sessions that discuss digital transformation, climate change, environmental conservation challenges, food security, global biodiversity, the new aspects of COVID-19 vaccinations and the use of nanotechnology in all disciplines.

The engineering sector and technology sciences are discussed in its four sessions, artificial intelligence and environmental systems, green universities and centers of excellence for energy and water.

In 5 sessions, the medical sector discusses future health care patterns, the future development of medical education, precision and personal (genetic) medicine in Africa, bullying and the health sector at Ain Shams University communicates with the community, in addition to a number of workshops.

As for the humanities, social and educational sciences sector, it will discuss in 4 sessions the fourth generation universities between opportunities and threats, scientific research in fourth generation universities, sustainable development and business administration.

This is in addition to an important session for the international relations sector in which the university’s activities are presented to some of the successful partnerships that the university has undertaken, with the awarding bodies for research projects with the participation of international students and faculty members sent abroad.

This year, the conference will host a number of distinguished guest speakers from the United States of America, Spain, Italy and South Africa.
