Ain Shams University is currently racing to develop the Ain Shams University Hospitals Sector area, which will extend over an area of 57 feddans in implementation of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi directing, to develop and completely re-plan the Ain Shams University Hospitals area, within the framework of establishing the Medical City of Ain Shams University, while providing financial allocations The necessary requirements for this vital project, which will serve thousands of patients, as well as the development of the main axes of the Abbasiya area and square, to eliminate traffic densities and facilitate transportation for university students and citizens.
Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, said that the project aims to expand and upgrade the service provided to patients, as it will include developing the Demerdash Pasha Palace, raising the efficiency of current medical facilities, establishing new emergency hospitals, pediatric and tumor surgeries, establishing modern medical facilities, as well as developing outpatient and specialized clinics, and providing combined waiting places. And the university president confirmed that President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi gave directions for the completion of the Medical City in a year and a half at most.
For his part, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of Education and Student Affairs, said that the Ain Shams University Hospitals campus, which will be covered by the development, currently includes 5 hospitals and 6 medical centers in addition to the Faculty of Medicine, which is the only medical faculty in Egypt that is not surrounded by a fence so far.
He stressed that this medical city will be a strong addition to patient service, explaining that Ain Shams University hospitals treat one and a half million patients annually, and saying: After completing the city, we can provide a distinguished medical service.
This is in addition to what the university is currently doing to complete the university branch in Obour City with its various faculties and departments, to be a great addition to Ain Sham University.
