The Minister of Higher Education on an inspection tour of the exams at Ain Shams University

Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, conducted an inspection tour at Ain Shams University to follow up on the work of the second semester exams for the current academic year 2021/2020 and to ensure that all precautionary measures are applied to prevent the Corona virus, accompanied by a Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President of Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Dr. Hisham Tamraz, Vice President of Community Service and Environmental Development.

The tour began at the Faculty of Arts, where they were received by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Mortada, Dean of the Faculty and the agents of the Faculty, where the Minister reassured that there is a sufficient distance between each student and another, during the examinations, and conducted cordial arrangements with a number of students during which he was assured of their readiness to take the exams and the extent of the questions compatibility with the courses, advising them of the need to commit to implementing prevention measures and protection, and the minister also directed the necessity of regular regular sterilization operations in faculties

Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar inspected the examination building to follow up on the exams of the Faculty of Law, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Naji Abdel-Moamin, Dean of the Faculty and the Deans, stressed the need to continue and follow up to implement the necessary precautionary measures; to ensure the smooth conduct of exams, stressing the importance of the commitment of all faculty, staff and students to them, with the need to take advantage of all faculty's capabilities in implementing exams with full discipline.

         
   
         

The minister praised what he witnessed during his tour of adherence to the rules of social separation and following all precautionary and preventive measures to avoid the spread of the new Corona virus, and to provide an appropriate environment for performing the exams at the end of the current school year.

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini said that the university administration has taken a package of preventive and precautionary measures to limit the spread of the Corona virus since the beginning of the pandemic, pointing out that during the examination period, the precautionary measures are applied in the university’s faculties with the utmost accuracy, starting from the student’s entry from the university gates, where the temperature is measured with the identification of paths Specific entry and exit in order to preserve social distancing, and the provision of sterilizer at the gates and in the examination committees.

Prof. Dr. El-Metini stated that the exam time was shortened to only an hour and a half instead of 3 hours, and the exams were divided into periods to achieve social distancing, with the committees completely sterilized and purified between each period through specialized teams.

He explained that an ambulance and an isolation room were provided adjacent to each committee that had a doctor and a nurse in the event that a student was suspected of being infected or showing symptoms, he would go to directly, where a medical examination would be signed on him and the temperature would be measured, and if necessary, he would be transferred to Ain Shams University Hospitals for follow-up through a medical team has been designated for this purpose.

         
   
         

With regard to the students who were confirmed to be infected with the Corona virus, he confirmed that, according to the decision of the Supreme Council of Universities, the student has the right to enter the next exam session while maintaining his discretion

Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saoud stressed that, given that this is the third time that exams have been held in light of the Corona virus, the teams responsible for managing exams at Ain Shams University have become more professional and more harmonious in applying precautionary measures through an interconnected system in constant contact and managed in a way Standard timing.

He stressed that the university's Supreme Committee for Precautionary Measures, headed by him, is in a permanent session, and follows up on the application of all precautionary measures from achieving social distancing, measuring temperature at the gates and providing good ventilation in the committees, in addition to organizing exams at intervals, with full attention to all civil protection procedures.
