Ain Shams University hosts a webinar of the graduate programs at the University of Kansas

Under the patronage of Professor Mahmoud El-Meteini, the President of Ain Shams University, Professor Ayman Saleh, the Vice President of Ain Shams University, and Professor Shahira Samir, the Director of the Ain Shams University International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector, the study abroad and missions Welfare Office organized an educational webinar in cooperation with the University of Kansas, the United States to present the graduate programs and graduate scholarships offered by the University of Kansas.


The webinar was presented by Ms. Amanda Ostreko, Assistant Vice Provost and Director of Graduate Enrollment Management, Ms. Hadeir Shahin, Senior Student Recruiter, KU International Admissions, University of Kansas, and two graduate students as Kansas University student ambassadors.

Prof. Ayman Saleh, the Vice President of Ain Shams University for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, said that “this activity comes within the framework of Ain Shams University’s keenness to communicate with leading international universities in the fields of education and scientific research. This will ensure major development in the diverse programs of Ain Shams University (ASU) through providing scholarships from international universities in the required disciplines in ASU. Ain Shams University is currently looking to achieve its vision and research plans on the global level. His Excellency also added that Ain Shams University has a leading scientific reputation in various fields and has faculty members who have a good reputation at the international level in the numerous fields of scientific research. The current achievements in both education and scientific research along with the university history marked ASU with its pivotal role in the region and the international community.

During the opening of the webinar, Prof. Shahira Samir, the Director of the Ain Shams University International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector, expressed the ASU interests in international cooperation with the world’s leading universities to exchange experiences and benefit from all the opportunities that place Ain Shams University among the top-ranked universities. She also added, “We hope to provide our students with all opportunities allowing them to study and receive training in prestigious universities within the diverse study programs that distinguish Ain Shams University from other universities in the region. Providing scholarships to our students gives a great opportunity to create partnerships at the international level between faculty staff at Ain Shams University and international universities for collaboration and the continuation of scientific research partnerships.

Ms. Hadeir Shahin began the webinar with a brief overview of the University of Kansas, including university rankings, geographic location, and information about student life on the University of Kansas campus. Next, Amanda Ostreko talked about the application process, admission requirements, and funding opportunities for international students at the University of Kansas. Finally, student ambassadors Julia and Patrick shared their experiences about the University of Kansas and answered all questions from the Ain Shams University students and faculty. Ain Shams University students participated in the webinar to learn about diverse ways to study in the United States and how to obtain various scholarships for their studies there.

At the end of the webinar, Dr. Abdallah Samy, the director of the study abroad and missions Welfare Office, acknowledged the University of Kansas staff for their keenness to present the various graduate programs at KU. He also acknowledged them for offering all funding opportunities for Ain Shams University students and faculty staff wishing to apply for their programs. It is worth mentioning that the University of Kansas has also offered the possibility of scheduling one-on-one appointments with students wishing to apply for any of the graduate programs offered by the University of Kansas.
