Science Week recommendations at the Faculty of Girls, Ain Shams University

The Science Week, which was organized by the Faculty of Girls of Arts, Sciences and Education at Ain Shams University from 25-28 July 2021, made a set of important recommendations, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Ruqayyah Shalaby, Dean of the Faculty for Girls, Ain Shams University, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Hisham Temraz, Vice President of Community Service and Environmental Development, emphasizing that women’s health is at the forefront of priorities in order to be able to perform their role and achieve their goals and aspirations, believing in their effective role In the renaissance of society and the leadership of creativity and innovation to achieve a better future, considering that overweight and obesity as well as cancerous diseases are among the most dangerous factors for women’s health and that the will and intention to follow a healthy system for your life is the basis for eliminating overweight, obesity and cancerous diseases with the need to follow a healthy pattern represented in Exercise daily, follow a healthy diet, sleep regularly, and adhere to a periodic medical examination.

The week also recommended providing a clear organizational climate that encourages creativity, innovation, forecasting expectations, taking responsibility, realizing risks, creating a work environment that motivates workers to adopt pioneering projects, applying innovative methods to solve management problems, and working on the participation of workers in decision-making and decision-making, while adopting mechanisms that achieve effective communication between management and beneficiaries.

The conference recommended emphasizing the practice of pioneering activities that support creativity and productivity and enhance the spirit of competition, with the need to conclude agreements with community institutions related to the educational institution, to raise awareness among school leaders of the foundations necessary to achieve educational leadership, and to hold training courses for teachers to practice learning by discovery and awareness of contradictions, and to enhance their role in the development of Creativity in children with awareness of creative solutions to problems.

The conference also recommended emphasizing the clarification of the role of women in promoting social and political stability and thus highlighting their effective role in advancing development and directing female students towards the pivotal role of women in consolidating and developing the Egyptian identity in line with the changes of the times and supporting the creative role of women, which directly contributes to the revitalization of the local economy and the development of investments, and strengthening this role by encouraging artistic and literary creativity among the female students of the department, discovering and developing their talents, encouraging the teaching of courses oriented towards minority literature on women, directing towards the study of literary works that focus on women’s issues, and encouraging cooperation and scientific and literary competition between the female students of the department and their counterparts from the faculties of all levels, whether local, regional or global.

   
   
   

The Science Week also recommended encouraging translation, whether in academic courses or student activities, as a creative activity for female students and faculty staff, and directing female students to the importance of preserving the environment, and encouraging the trend towards environmental studies at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels by studying texts dealing with the preservation of the environment, and studying the effects of various human actions on the environment, positively and negatively, and employing technology to serve creativity and to enhance language and literature learning skills, especially with regard to language teaching.

It also stressed the importance of shedding light on the role of Arab women, which is one of the reasons for the economic power of countries, from a comprehensive perspective, to benefit from their expertise in the scientific and research fields, based on the link between the academic side and civil society, and to clarify the most important environmental problems affecting the economy and sustainable development such as water and air pollution and the development of widely applicable scientific solutions to these problems that are characterized by preserving the national economy and recycling industrial waste.

It stressed the keenness to find more than one idea that supports creativity and productivity, enhances the spirit of competition to preserve the environment, contributes to economic growth, and provides a clear organizational climate that encourages creativity, innovation, forecasting expectations, taking responsibility and realizing risks.

Recommending the holding of these events periodically annually and continuing coordination to establish workshops to encourage researchers to present the results of their studies and scientific research and enhance the value of teamwork, support scientific research and encourage studies and research carried out by female students, organize scientific seminars that will raise awareness among different groups of society to improve their practice, and introducing the importance of a healthy balanced diet to prevent infection with viral diseases in general and the emerging corona virus in particular, in order to reduce the economic and social consequences of the state.

Providing scientific consultations through convoys, spreading food awareness and raising the culture of society to reduce the spread of virus C and liver cancer, and emphasizing the trend to use natural compounds and legalizing their use.

It is worth noting that the Science Week included three main events; The first is the Seventh International Community Service and Environmental Development Sector Conference entitled (Women and Creativity Sustainable Development: Egypt’s Vision 2030), decided by Prof. Dr. Amira Ahmed Youssef, the sector vice dean, the second event is the conferences of the scientific departments and its decision is Prof. Dr. Hanan Al-Shaer, Vice Dean of Graduate Studies, and the third event, the first conference of the Education and Student Affairs Sector, entitled (The Creative Student and the Challenges of the Fourth Generation), decided by: Prof. Dr. Mai Helmy, the sector vice dean.

The conference sessions and a workshop varied between the various disciplines of the faculty;

The first day witnessed, in addition to the opening paragraphs and the celebration of the outstanding students who accomplished in the literacy project, a session of the Home Economics Conference and an exhibition of female students’ leather products, crochet, drawings and detailing to encourage them to set up small projects for each student, and the Philosophy Department conference, and the second day witnessed another diversity of the conference with the active participation of the Mathematics Department The Department of Zoology, the Department of History, the Department of Child Education, the Department of English, the Department of Fundamentals of Education, and the Department of Curriculum and Teaching Methods varied between direct and online sessions. The third day witnessed new and diverse participations from the Department of Physics, the Botany Department, the Department of Education and Information Technology and the Department of Geography. The fourth and last day witnessed the active participation of the History Department and the Department of Geography. Chemistry, the Department of Biochemistry and Nutrition and the Arabic Language Department, and on the sidelines of the conference, a series of rich workshops were carried out entitled:

- Quadrilateral Environmental Analysis Engineering

- Develop interactive video lectures.

- Assessing the health status and improving the nutritional awareness of women.

- Designing dynamic personal web pages on wordpress.

The attendance varied among faculty members, the supporting body, researchers at the faculty and the Egyptian corresponding faculties, and researchers at the National Research Center, the Nuclear Research Center - Atomic Energy Authority, and Baheya Hospital. The conference also celebrated the participation of the sister Arab countries (Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Libya and Kuwait).

On the sidelines of the conference, a daily exhibition was held for the products of female students in the various departments of the college, and to listen to their various poetic, anecdotal and artistic creations.
