Introductory lecture to the Employment Center at Ain Shams University at the Faculty of Arts headquarter

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Hisham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Dr. Mostafa Mortada, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, and in coordination with Prof. Dr. Rasha El-Didi, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and the supervisor of the Department of Psychology in it.

The Faculty of Arts witnessed the first introductory lecture of the employment center at the university, which was held in preparation for the presentation of the two workshops, which will include two programs: Employment Skills, which helps students develop their skills to meet the requirements of the labor market and introduce them to the basic skills for admission.

As for the second program, it is the career guidance that helps the student during the three days to know the basic steps of how to start the entire career decision-making process, while gaining ideas and awareness of the factors that affect this decision.

         
   
         

The training program is based on four main phases with specific objectives, namely: Self-awareness: Recognizing the determinants of the self, and achieving a deeper understanding of it starting from being the first step in making a sound professional decision, by knowing their (professional values, motivational skills, job interests and personal styles)

Awareness of the labor market: where students know and use the ways and methods of learning how to communicate with others and take from their professional and practical experiences until they reach a deeper awareness and understanding of the labor market and the professions they are interested in.

Compatibility (assessment of results and their relevance): In this stage, students make the process of linking and matching the information that resulted from the step of self-exploration, with the list of occupations they collected information about to reach a sound career decision

(Professional Planning): In this last stage, students define their goals and develop a solid plan to develop their skills and abilities, and identify the people they will cooperate with to reach the desired profession so that they are fully prepared when the opportunity comes.
