The Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector organized a visit for a delegation of the representatives of the community service sector and the faculty staff in the various faculties of the university to the new administrative capital, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, coordinated by Dr. Gehan Ragab, Professor of Marketing at the Faculty of Business, and Mr. Suhail Hamza, Assistant Secretary of the University, under the supervision of Colonel Ahmed Abdel-Gawad Allam, Director of the Military Education Department at the university.
This is due to the belief of Ain Shams University in the importance of standing up to what has been accomplished within the new administrative capital and also conveying the true picture of the major projects being undertaken at all levels in the capital.
This is thanks to the permanent directives of the political leadership of the Egyptian state to implement the projects of the new capital according to the highest level of quality and perfection, which reflects the greatness of the Egyptian state.
The visit comes within the framework of the fruitful and constructive cooperation between the PDF and Ain Shams University to implement the state's strategy in activating community participation. The cathedral is the largest in the Middle East, with a capacity of 8,200 people, and the number of workers in the implementation of the cathedral was about 1,000 workers, including engineers, technicians and workers, and the work took about 23 months, from February 2017 to the end of December 2018.
Then the visit went to the Kunooz Marble and Granite Exhibition, which contains the rarest, most beautiful and finest types of marble produced by Jabal El Galala.
The university delegation visited the government hospital in the capital, which is considered the nucleus of the medical city in the capital
Then the delegation went to visit the Presidency of the Council of Ministers building and the government district, inspect the Ministry of Finance and see the great achievement that has been done to complete all government buildings and establish them in a manner befitting the new capital, then visit the National Center for the Families of Martyrs and Injured. Major General Mohamed Zagloul gave a full explanation of all the projects established by the Engineering Authority in the Administrative Capital, as well as visiting the flag pole site, where the largest flag pole in the world is installed, with a height of 168 meters.
The People’s Park, which is located on hundreds of acres in the capital, was also visited, passing through the largest Islamic complex in the history of Egypt with a capacity of 120,000 worshipers and a building height of 120 meters, passing through the new parliament headquarters in the capital and also the seat of the new Senate, as well as visiting the Sports City, which was implemented with the aim of supporting the sports field in Egypt, receiving international tournaments and important events on Egyptian soil.
The delegation concluded the visit by visiting Al-Fattah Al-Alim Mosque, where the mosque is located at the entrance to the administrative capital on the middle ring road on the armed 106 acres and can accommodate about 17,000 worshipers and has 4 minarets and the height of the minaret reaches 95 meters
At the end of the visit, Prof. Dr. Shahira Samir, Vice-dean of Faculty of Medicine, and Director of the International Cooperation Sector at the university, presented the shield of Ain Shams University to Major General, Assistant President of the Engineering Authority, and his honor also gifted the shield of the Engineering Authority to the university.
