The Faculty of Al-Alsun announces its new programs for students of the class of 2021/2022

The Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University announced the launch of eight credit-hour programs for the next academic year 2021/2022, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Nasser Abdel Aal, Vice Dean of Education and Student Affairs.

Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, explained that the university administration has provided all the necessary capabilities for the preparations related to the development of the faculty’s infrastructure and the opening of new halls equipped with the latest global digital technologies, in order to receive the new batches of high school students and the equivalent certificates with eight credit hour programs.

Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, confirmed that the Faculty seeks, during the coming period, to increase the number of international programs, through international partnerships, to raise the university’s classification worldwide, as well as provide distinguished educational services to Egyptian and foreign students, where the faculty offers a joint master's program in specialized translation in cooperation with the University of Leipzig in Germany, and a European master's program in cooperation with the University of Salamanca in Spain.

She explained that the Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University offers distinguished innovative programs that apply quality standards to meet the needs of the labor market and society, it also enhances research capabilities to qualify graduates; In order to become specialized researchers in the fields of language, literature and translation, the faculty aims to excel in language, literature and translation studies at the local, regional and international levels by following a system that combines science and innovation.

She indicated that the new programs are:

1- A written translation and interpretation program in English.

2- The program of written translation and interpretation in French.

3- Specialized translation program in the Chinese language.

4- The Arabic language and translation program for non-Arabic speakers.

5- Specialized translation program in the Russian language.

6- Specialized translation program in the Italian language.

7- Specialized translation program in Spanish.

8- Specialized translation program in German.

She stressed that these educational programs aim to prepare cadres of professional translators in the fields of translation and interpretation and translation technology, capable of meeting the needs of the labor market at the national, regional and international levels, and preparing specialists to fill various jobs that require translation and interpretation skills, in addition to preparing cadres capable of contributing to the process of Arabization in scientific fields such as medicine, engineering, science, mathematics and others.

It is also concerned with refining the student’s skills in the Arabic language, through the correct application of language rules and recognition of common errors in his mother tongue, which refines his skills in translation, in addition to preparing cadres capable of acquiring high and specialized language skills to raise their efficiency in article writing, written and oral translation, and development Professional skills of learners through intensive training on written and oral translation, with the aim of preparing cadres of translators that meet the needs of the labor market, and graduating new cadres capable of absorbing modern technology and using it in the field of translation.

She also stressed that the graduates of these programs have wide fields of work, as there is a great demand from companies, institutions and embassies to employ the faculty graduates in various fields, including for example: translation of all kinds, interpretation and film translation, jobs in the diplomatic corps and administrative jobs in embassies, tourist guides and companies of tourism, aviation and air hospitality, news agencies, radio and television stations, telecommunications and customer service companies, computer and technology services companies, and export and import companies.

And about the general conditions for admission to the credit hour programs in the faculty:

1- The student must have a high school completion certificate, or its equivalent in English, American, French or equivalent Arabic certificates.

2- The student must have obtained the minimum for faculties of Al-Alsun sector announced by the Coordination Office.

3- The student must bring a copy of the birth certificate, nomination card and high school certificate.

4- Students nominated by the Coordination Office submit the original papers required to manage student affairs at the faculty, then withdraw a file from the Credit Hours Program Department with payment of the prescribed examination fees.

5- Students who have the minimum for faculties of Al-Alsun sector, and have not been nominated to the faculty by the coordination office, must bring a copy of the birth certificate, the nomination card and the high school certificate to take approval from the dean of the faculty to open a paper transfer file to the coordination office of Ain Shams University and pay the transfer fees, knowing that it will not be accepted Transfer only after passing the exams below and after paying the faculty exam fees.
