Rasd Khan... Best theatrical performance in the Grand Festival of Theater Acting competition at Ain Shams University

“Kobra” Festival of Theatrical Acting was held, which was held under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, with the participation of 11 faculties at the university level.

The theatrical show "Rasd Khan" won first place as the best theatrical show presented by the Faculty of Arts, the play "Don Quixote" of the Faculty of Education won second place, and the third place went to the Faculty of Business and theatrical show "Underground".

The Excellence Award was shared by Hani Farouk's kinetic drama for the show (Underground), and the acting performance by Haitham Mohamed for the show (Immigrant Brisbane), and the Special Jury Prize was won by the artist Rana Shamil and the artist Menna Hussein for the design and animation of the puppetry for the theatrical show (Don Quixote), and won the Best Group Performance Award for Law School Theatrical Show (Temporary Show).

During the award ceremony, which delegated Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Taya Abdel Latif, advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for student activities, and advisor to the Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prod. Dr. Tamer Rady, Advisor to the Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, the theatrical show (Rasd Khan) won awards for Best Theatrical Script, Best Lighting, Best Director, Best Script, Best Show, Best Actor and Actress in a First Role and Best Actor in a Second Role.

     
 
     

The best costume award went to theatrical show (Underground), while the canal show won the best music award, and the cochlear show won the best decoration award.

It is noteworthy that the (Kobra) Theatrical Acting Festival was held this year and 11 theatrical performances competed in it: “Don Quixote” Faculty of Education, “Immigrant Brisbane” Faculty of Agriculture, “Temporary Show” Faculty of Law, “The Canal... A People’s Tale” Faculty of Al-Alsun,” The Cochlea, Faculty of Specific Education, Rasd Khan, Faculty of Arts, Sad and Terrifying, Faculty of Engineering, Gunpowder Orchestra, Faculty of Computers and Information, Collar and Bracelet, Faculty of Science, Underground, Faculty of Commerce.

The festival’s jury included Prof. Dr. Gamal Yakout, Head of Acting and Directing Department at the Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University, President of the Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theater as Chairman of the Committee, writer and art critic, Mr. Yousry Hassan, managing editor of Al-Masaa newspaper, and the young director, artist Mazen Al-Gharabawi, president and founder of the Sharm El-Sheikh International Festival for Youth Theater.

The committee commended the role of Ain Shams University in continuing its important and vital enlightening role, despite the circumstances of the pandemic. Enlightenment and acceptance of the other among them.

     
 
     

It is noteworthy that the festival was organized by the Artistic Activity Department of the General Administration of Youth Welfare at the university under the supervision of Prof. Muhammad Al-Khatib, Assistant Secretary for Education and Student Affairs, and a. Muhammad Al-Sharqawi, Director General of the General Administration of Youth Welfare, and Mr. Mustafa Issa, director of the technical activity department at the university, Ms. Hind Hamed, Head of the Arts Department, Prof. Abdel-Fadil Kamal, supervisor of theatrical activity and Mr. Ahmed Adel is responsible for operating the theater.
