Faculty of Agriculture participates in the establishment of a Chinese laboratory to study the resources of dry areas and environmental treatment

The cooperation agreement between the Faculty of Agriculture and Ningxia University in China includes the participation of the faculty in building a laboratory in the framework of deepening the bilateral relations between Egypt and China and encouraging international partnerships, especially in the field of scientific research.

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Galal, Dean of Faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. He Jianguo, president of Ningxia University, China, signed a cooperation agreement on the participation of the Faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams University in the establishment of a laboratory for international cooperation.

It is specialized in studying the outstanding resources in dry areas in China and the Arab countries and addressing the environment. Through the establishment of this laboratory, the two universities are developing and distributing crops grown in arid and semi-arid regions and for water saving equipment and technologies in the Arab countries and the Ningxia region.

A number of Egyptian experts were selected to draw on their expertise: Prof. Dr. Ahmed Galal El Sayed, Dean of Faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Osama El Behairy, Dean of the Institute of Arid Zones at Ain Shams University and Prof. Dr. Wafa Hagag, Head of the Agricultural Division, National Research Center.

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of an international conference held in China on the development of sustainable water resources and protection of the water environment in the areas of the Yellow River. More than 40 experts and academics attended the conference from different countries including China, Egypt, Iran, the United States and Pakistan.
