Admission tests for postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Arts amid strict precautionary measures

The Graduate Studies and Research Sector at the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, held admission tests and interviews for applicants for graduate studies in the faculty for the new academic year 2021/2022 under the name: (Diploma - Master - PhD) amid strict precautionary measures to avoid the spread of the Corona virus, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Mortada, Dean of the Faculty, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sherine Mazloum, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs.

         
   
         

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Mortada, the dean of the faculty, said that the faculty administration pays great attention to scientific and academic research through the graduate studies and research sector, and offers a variety of study programs in all programs, departments and specializations, which include 13 programs with a credit-hour system, which are Arabic language and literature, English language and literature, language French and its literature, oriental languages ​​and literature (Persian - Urdu - Turkish), Hebrew language and literature, ancient European civilization, history, geography, philosophy, psychology, sociology, drama and theater criticism, and finally libraries and information, which this year allows admission to the master's for the first time in the credit hour system, while the old system is implemented in the Departments of Information and Tourist Guidance, and with regard to the Archeology Program, students wishing to enroll in postgraduate studies for this specialization are submitted to the Faculty of Archeology, which starts this year.

Prof. Dr. Sherin Mazloum, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, confirmed that the tests varied between written, oral and personal interviews over the course of one day, with the aim of issuing the result as soon as possible before the beginning of the new school year.

She added that all 333 applicants were tested for master's degrees, 37 for doctoral students, and 121 advanced students for diplomas that include a diploma in social development, a diploma in psychological service, a translation diploma in the Hebrew language department, a diploma in theater criticism, a diploma in film criticism, a diploma in geographical systems.
