The Dean of Faculty of Al-Alsun honors the students of the United Nations training program

A number of graduate students at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University, completed their participation in the training program that was organized in cooperation with the Department of Interpretation at the United Nations from May 24, 2021 until August 31, 2021, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research.

Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Ashraf Attia, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, received 9 graduate students from the English and French departments, to honor them after receiving accredited certificates from the United Nations at the conclusion of their participation in the training program organized in cooperation with the United Nations Interpretation Department.

Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, said that the program included organizing a series of remote training workshops through Microsoft teams aimed at developing interpretation skills from and into Arabic for college students and introducing them to the characteristics of translation in the United Nations that require special capabilities and specifications in the translator.

Prof. Dr. Ashraf Attia, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, stated that the training process was supervised by the United Nations by 8 senior interpreters at the organization’s headquarters in New York and Geneva. In order to inform them of new mechanisms and experiences in the field of interpretation that motivate them to study seriously and focus on the important aspects of interpretation.

In accordance with the prior agreement with the United Nations Interpretation Department, the students participating in the training were handed out certificates approved by the international organization stating that they had passed the training program.
