Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Amani Osama Kamel, Dean of the Faculty, the Student Union of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams University, organized a welcome reception for the class newly enrolled in the faculty 2020-2021 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rehab Othman Ahmed, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Rola Melad Labib, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Rana Al-Hilali, director of the Student Services Center with Disabilities, heads of departments at the faculty, coordinator of the credit hours program, representatives of the medical unit, student affairs at the faculty, and youth care, while taking all precautionary measures.
The ceremony began with a speech by Prof. Dr. Amani Kamel, in which she welcomed the new students and congratulated them on joining the College of Pharmacy, which is distinguished by its tradition. She also introduced the college with its departments, services and student activities.
Prof. Dr. Rana Al-Helali, Director of the Center for Students with Disabilities, indicated that the center seeks to support and promote inclusive education for students with disabilities by providing a set of integrated services, which include the provision of sign language interpreters during lectures or any activity within the university.
The ceremony also witnessed honoring the top five students from all batches of the college, as well as the winners of the Union’s various competitions (the Holy Qur’an, poetry, short story, playing, singing, acting, drawing and photography) in order to urge new students to excel at the academic level and the various student activities.
The students of the Union received the new students with symbolic gifts. The ceremony also included a presentation of the many activities in the faculty. The ceremony concluded with an introductory tour for the new students inside the faculty building.
