Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mamdouh El-Damaty, Dean of the Faculty, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hossam Tantawy, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Eman Nusair, Director of the Field and Practical Training Unit, and Prof. Hossam Hosny Secretary of the Faculty The Faculty of Archeology at Ain Shams University started its new academic year by organizing introductory visits to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir and the Museum of Islamic Art in Cairo for new students nominated to the faculty for the academic year 2021/2022 after dividing them into batches divided according to the alphabet to prevent crowding and in application of precautionary measures and social distancing, and under Supervised by a group of faculty members and the supporting staff from different disciplines covering the main branches of archeology.
The visits witnessed a great interaction from students and a strong attendance due to the importance of scientific visits and field exercises that make them an integral and obligatory part of studying architecture, arts, museums, excavations and excavations, and one of the strategies for constructive knowledge cooperation with the labor market.
The Faculty of Archeology offers five credit-hour programs, namely ancient Egyptian antiquities, Greek and Roman antiquities, and Islamic antiquities, in addition to the archeology and excavation sciences programs, and the management of museums and archaeological sites.
