Ain Shams University’s comprehensive development convoy in Beheira Governorate, in cooperation with Damanhour University, succeeded in providing medical services to 743 citizens of Manshiyat Al-Awkaf village and its dependencies in Beheira Governorate, under the auspices of Major General Hisham Amna, Governor of Beheira and Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Obaid Saleh, President of Damanhour University, which comes within the presidential initiative “A Dignified Life”, and as a continuation of Ain Shams University’s efforts to provide comprehensive development services in the various governorates of the Republic and is organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at Ain Shams University headed by Prof. Dr. Hisham Tamraz, Vice President for Sector Affairs and General Supervision, Prof. Dr. Shahira Samir, Vice Dean of the College of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Tariq Youssef, Director of Demerdash University Surgical Hospital, and administrative supervision of Mr. Suhail Hamza, Assistant Secretary of the University for Sector Affairs.
Where the convoy provided its various free medical services to citizens in the specialties of general surgery, orthopedics, women, ophthalmology, internal medicine, nose and ear, dermatology, children, orthopedics, in addition to disbursing free treatment from the convoy pharmacy to 700 beneficiaries, in addition to transferring 33 cases for free treatment. A placement test was held for 51 students; In preparation for opening literacy classes to teach them through free contract with Ain Shams University students and an immediate test contract for 33 citizens, in cooperation between the General Authority for Adult Education headed by Dr. Ashour Omari and Adult Education Center at Ain Shams University.
The convoy included presenting a number of awareness campaigns, under the supervision of a representative from the Ministry of Awkaf, on birth control in Islam and its impact on society and economic development, entitled "Having children is a responsibility... Participate in development.", and another awareness campaign under the supervision of Dr. Islam Al-Saeed, Director of the Adult Education Center at Ain Shams University, about the state's interest in the literacy project and its impact on economic development.
Mr. Suhail Hamza, Secretary-General of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environmental Development Sector Affairs, conducted an inspection tour to follow up on the work of the convoy, and to check on the application of all precautionary measures and to prevent the Corona virus, and masks and disinfectants were distributed free of charge to all those who frequent the convoy to ensure their safety.
Qaha Food Industries distributed some products to citizens who visited the convoy for free.
Ain Shams University continues its efforts in serving and developing the Egyptian society throughout the Republic and actively participating in the implementation of Egypt's Vision 2030.
