launching of the annual conference of the French Association Méditerranées hosted by Ain Shams University

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Jacques Bouineau, President of the French Association Méditerranées, and Prof. Dr. Hassan Abdel Hamid, Dean of the Faculty of Law at the British University and Professor of Philosophy of Law at the Faculty of Law, Ain Shams University, inaugurated the activities of the annual conference of the French Association Méditerranées, which is hosted by the Faculty of Arts at Ain Shams University from October 31 to November 2, on the occasion of the thirty years since the establishment of the Association.

The inauguration was attended by Prof. Mostafa Mortada, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Nagy Abdel-Momen, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Rasha Al-Didi, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Hanan Kamel, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Sherine Mazloum, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts For Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Safi, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Shafei, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Khaled Hamdi, Director of the French Division at the University’s Faculty of Law, and a number of members of the association.

         
   
         

This year's conference will witness the participation of thirty professors from universities in the Mediterranean basin, in addition to remote (online) participation, and it will address the cultural and legal aspects of hegemony - a comparative study between ancient and contemporary civilizations.

The activities of the first day of the conference are scheduled to include three sessions. The first session will be chaired by Prof. Dr. Hassan Abdel Hamid, Vice-President of the Assembly, and it is a round circle for the academic opening of the conference. It will witness discussions between the new and the old generation of members of the Assembly, in addition to a research presentation entitled “Re-reading.” for the clash of civilizations” will be presented by Professor Alexandre Viala, Professor of Public Law at the University of Montpellier.

As for the second session, chaired by Professor Jacques Bouineau, President of the Association, it will deal with hegemony in the field of law and the relationship between law and hegemony, legal imperialism and how powerful countries control the world.

The third session will address some philosophical ideas about the idea of ​​hegemony in the ancient and new eras.

It is worth mentioning that the French Association Méditerranées was established in 1991 at the University of Paris (10) and its current headquarters is at the University of La Rochelle.
