Using stem cells to treat diabetes... Scientific symposium at the Faculty of Pharmacy

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Amani Osama Kamel - Dean of the Faculty, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Maha Nasr, Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy and Director of the Department of International Relations and Academic Cooperation at the faculty, the Faculty of Pharmacy held a symposium on the use of stem cells to treat diabetes.

         
   
         

The seminar, which was given by Prof. Dr. Dina Hamada, assistant professor in the Department of Biochemistry, how to isolate and characterize cells and the possibility of using the umbilical cord to extract stem cells, with a review of the most important published research in this regard, and a review of the experience of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams University in this field, as part of a series of weekly scientific seminars held by the faculty During the academic year 2021-2022.

The symposium was presented via the zoom application and through the live broadcast on the faculty's social networking page, and the lecture was presented through interactive screens in the stands, in the presence of several faculty staff and faculty students.
