Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University at Al-Zafaran Palace, received a delegation from Huawei Egypt, which included Mr. Maben, CEO of Public Relations and Communications for Huawei Egypt, Eng. Amr Zayed, CEO of Huawei Academy, and Engineer Asmaa Serag, Head of Training Sector at Huawei. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Hisham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Nagwa Badr, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information, Prof. Dr. Omar Al-Husseini, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Vice Dean of Engineering for Education and Student Affairs and Director of the International Cooperation Department, Prof. Dr. Diaa Abdel Maged Khalil, General Supervisor of the Center for Innovation and Creativity (IHUB) and former Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Dr. Mohammed Al-Behairi, Director of the Center for Innovation and Creativity at the university.
During the meeting, many related issues and joint cooperation were discussed, and the two parties also exchanged what has been achieved through cooperation between Huawei and Ain Shams University in the academic aspect, and based on these achievements, ways were proposed to expand the scope of cooperation between Huawei and Ain Shams University to make the university (a center to support academies within Egypt’s various universities) to provide support to many academies and help them to make the most of integrating industry with academic education to make Egyptian students and youth qualified for the labor market and face future challenges. The two sides also welcomed this cooperation.
The two sides also looked forward to more ways of cooperation in the next stage, and Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini pointed to the need to discuss more cooperation between the two sides in the next stage and to find many ways of cooperation to develop partnership in other areas aimed at providing more support to the university's youth and students and making them in a distinguished position by integrating the academy with industry.
