Prof. Dr. Nazmi Abdul Hamid, Vice-President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environment Development and member of the Committee on the Elimination of Illiteracy at the Supreme Council of Universities, opened the fifth annual ceremony to honor distinguished university students participating in the National Project for the eradication of illiteracy. A number of university professors and representatives of branches of the Adult Education Authority in a number of governorates and representatives of the Coptic Orthodox Church and a number of students from various Egyptian universities participating in the project attended the ceremony.
During the ceremony, 75 university students participating in the national project to eradicate illiteracy, adult education and a number of representatives of the branches of the Adult Education Authority were honored by certificates of appreciation and financial rewards provided by Banque Misr. The Shield of Ain Shams University was awarded to Mr. Hossam El Din Abdul Wahab, representative of Banque Misr and Prof. Dr. Hossam Essa and Prof. Dr. Ahmed El Borai.
The ceremony also includes an artistic show of the choir of the Coptic Orthodox Church.
