Ain Shams University finishes implementing the access code on campus No. (1) and its four faculties

The university has completed the implementation of the access code for all campus faculties No. (1) of the university, and Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saoud said that the university began implementing this project in line with the directions of the Egyptian state in caring for people with special needs and giving them rights on an equal basis with their peers.

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, under the supervision of Prof. Yasser Mujahid, Director of the Engineering Consultation Center and a professor at the College of Engineering, the university has finished implementing the access code for all faculties of campus No. (1) of the university, which includes faculties (Arts, Law, Science, Computers).

Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saoud said that the university began implementing this project in line with the directions of the Egyptian state in caring for people with special needs and giving them rights on an equal basis with their peers.

         
   
         

He added that after the implementation of the access code on the university campus No. (1), all members of the university community, including students, faculty staff, and administrators, will be able to benefit from all the equipment that has been prepared in this regard by facilitating corridors in the roads and creating inclined slopes to facilitate movement in front of the seats of people with special needs and design of ramps next to the stairs. As well as preparing safe toilets for people with disabilities, determining the height of doors in different places, and other construction equipment that conforms to the availability code.

Dr. Saoud valued the efforts of the people in charge of the Service Center for Students with Disabilities, headed by Prof. Dr. Rana Al-Hilali, who is fully supervising all the equipment and works that are carried out according to international standards, pointing out that the university has been keen to support and care for students with special abilities and integrate them into the university community since 2013, in conjunction with the university’s interest in promoting international assessments and classifications, which is the availability code An important factor is taken into consideration during the evaluation of these classifications, and since then diligent work has begun to develop plans on an ongoing basis to suit any emergency circumstances.

Prof. Dr. Abdul-Fattah confirmed that the education and integration of people with disabilities reflects on society as a whole and leaves its societal impact on the various segments of society, pointing out that the university is in the process of preparing a specialized program for students with intellectual disabilities that suits their abilities in achievement.

The university continues to implement its plans to activate the availability code on all university campuses, which work began several months ago, and implementation is underway in the rest of the university campuses.
