Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, honored the batch of 27 (July 2020) and the 28th batch (January 2021) of faculty members who received the international publication award. The number of researchers in the twenty-seventh batch reached 482 researchers with 393 research papers, and the twenty-eighth batch included 789 researchers with a number of research papers. It reached 619 research papers, during the celebration organized by the Graduate Studies and Research Sector headed by Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs, to honor the recipients of the international publication award amid strict precautionary measures, in the presence of the deans of the faculties and the deans of the faculties for the affairs of graduate studies and research.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, expressed his happiness with the doubling of the number of researchers and research during the last period in terms of quantity and quality, noting that the university is always looking forward to more in addition to paying attention to interdisciplinary research, and his Excellency stressed the need for concerted efforts of similar departments in different faculties - scientific departments - which supports the efforts made to achieve better results.
Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, said that the university administration is constantly working to enhance the field of research and scientific publishing as a fundamental role for the university, noting that the number of international publications has increased by 4 times than what was done previously.
He also stressed that the Egyptian state funded scientific research with one billion and one hundred million pounds through the initiatives of the Science, Technology and Innovation Funding Authority, in addition to the cooperation agreement between the European and African Unions, calling on scientists and researchers to seize these opportunities that would maximize research funding from inside and outside Egypt.
