The President of Ain Shams University receives the Executive Director of the Fulbright Authority in Egypt

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, received Dr. Maggie Nassif, Executive Director of the Fulbright Commission in Egypt, and Professor Mai Ayad, coordinator of the American Experts Exchange Program at the Commission, to discuss aspects of cooperation between the Commission and Ain Shams University, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr.. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector, Vice Dean of the faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mostafa Refaat, Director of the International Cooperation Department and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Shirwit Al-Ahmadi, Director of the Immigrants Department at the university.

         
   
         

In his speech Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, welcomed the distinguished attendees, stressing the university administration’s keenness to activate the continuous and mutual cooperation with the Fulbright Authority Egypt, which is one of the largest and oldest bodies in the Middle East, by opening research fields that contribute to the advancement of scientific research at the university and increase the chances of Ain Shams University’s advancement in Various international classifications, which include hosting 3 American experts to give lectures and train employees and faculty staff at the university.

It is worth noting that the Fulbright Commission Egypt was established in 1949 at the initiative of former Senator J. William Fulbright, whose vision was to "achieve greater knowledge, awareness, and empathy toward world affairs."

The Fulbright Commission Egypt is one of the largest and oldest organizations in the Middle East, and it has provided scholarships and expeditions to more than 7,000 Egyptian researchers and 1,000 American researchers over the past seventy years.
