The achievements of the comprehensive development convoy for Ain Shams University in Ahalina 1 district in the Salam neighborhood

Under the auspices of Major General Khaled Abdel Aal, Governor of Cairo and Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, the University organized the comprehensive development convoy to Ahalina district (1), Al-Salam neighborhood, headed by Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Ashour Omari, head of the General Authority for Adult Education, coordinated and attended by Prof. Dr. Jihan Rajab, Advisor to the Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and under the supervision and attendance of Mr. Suhail Hamza, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Sector Affairs, in the presence of Eng. Ibrahim Saber, Deputy Governor for the Eastern Province.

Faculties of Medicine, Graduate Studies for Childhood, Dentistry, Nursing, Law, and Specific Education participated in the activities of the convoy, in addition to the Egyptian Clothing Bank, the General Authority for Adult Education and the University’s Adult Education Center.

         
   
         

The convoy included the provision of a range of medical services under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Shahira Samir, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, which are clinics (internal medicine, neurology, dermatology, children, obstetrics and gynecology, ear, nose and throat, ophthalmology), in addition to a dental clinic and others for people with special needs, family counseling and a speech clinic, in addition to a pharmacy To dispense free medicine, and a skills education room (printing T-shirts).

Prof. Dr. Gehan Ragab, Advisor to the Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, said that the convoy succeeded in providing its medical services to about 1,186 citizens, in addition to dispensing free treatment from the convoy pharmacy to 1,100 patients, and 64 cases were referred to receive treatment for free at Ain Shams University hospitals.

Dr. Islam Al-Saeed, director of the Adult Education Center at the university, stated that the Adult Education Authority in the Cairo branch held, in cooperation with the center, an immediate test for (100) citizens. A request was made to obtain 16 literacy certificates, and an inventory of a number of illiterates from the neighborhood was made in preparation for opening classes for them through Ain Shams University students.

Prof. Dr. Randa Kamal Abdel Raouf, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies for Childhood for Community Service and Environmental Development, stated that the convoy witnessed a great demand from the people of Al-Salam 1 neighborhood for the free medical service provided by the Faculty of Graduate Studies for Childhood, which consists in the detection and treatment of children and awareness campaigns that were presented to the Families in the field of family counseling, genetic counseling and self-care, in addition to specializing in speech to detect problems of language delay, stuttering, dyslexia, and mental delay, pointing out that 311 children, including children with special needs, were interviewed.

         
   
         

Dr. Ayman Ramzi Habashi, Professor of Textile Printing, Department of Art Education at the college, stated that the college participated in two workshops. The first workshop was in the field of textile printing by printing (60 T-shirts) in a pre-prepared hollow stencil style, with the active participation of the children of Ahalina (1) in printing T-shirts through the explanation The sequence of the steps of this simple printing method, and at the end of the workshop, each participant got a printed T-shirt that he had implemented.

The second workshop in the field of technical works under the supervision of Dr. Nermin Khairy is a teacher of art works in the Department of Art Education at the college to teach the simple skills to implement a natural leather product in the form of medals and pendants in different shapes. A large number of children of different ages have been taught and also obtained what they have implemented from an artistic product.

The convoy also included providing legal awareness, as Dr. Omar Ramadan Galal, a criminal law teacher and director of the Literacy Unit at the Faculty of Law, presented a symposium on legal culture and its importance in all aspects of life, and the need for an individual to know his rights and legal obligations, referring to the giant projects undertaken by the Egyptian state, including The national project to build one million housing units, in addition to the presidential initiatives launched by His Excellency the President, including the initiative for a decent life, which aims to provide a decent life for citizens by improving living conditions and supporting social stability, as well as the initiative to eliminate Hepatitis C and 100 million health, school students, women’s health and others .
