Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, the university participated with a large student delegation in the celebration held by the Ministry of Interior on Police Day, where 200 male and female students from various faculties of the university, members of a family for Central Egypt, in addition to the university’s five-a-side football and volleyball teams participated in the activities and events held at the headquarters of the Police Sports Federation.
The university delegation received a warm reception from all the police leaders who witnessed the events, who emphasized the fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Interior and Ain Shams University on various occasions, and thanked the university leaders for their constant endeavor to raise awareness among students and develop the national spirit and feelings of loyalty and belonging to the homeland.
The competitive competitions resulted in the university’s volleyball team beating its counterpart from the Police Association with two goals to none, while the Police Union scored 4 goals against three during the five-a-side football competitions.
Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of Ain Shams University, stressed the university's keenness to develop national awareness among students and instill the spirit of belonging in addition to refining their skills in various fields as an integral part of building personality as well as interest in the educational process.
It is noteworthy that the participation of university students came under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Tamer Rady, Advisor to the Vice President for Student Activities, and Mr. Muhammad Al-Khatib, Assistant Secretary of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and Mr. Muhammad Al-Sharqawi, Director General of the General Administration of Youth Welfare, and Mr. Mohamed Hassan, director of the sports activity department at the university.
