The Board of Directors of the Center of Excellence for Studies and Research of German and Arabic Languages for Non-Native Speakers at Ain Shams University

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, held the eleventh meeting of the Board of Directors of the Center of Excellence for Research and Studies of German and Arabic Languages ​​for Non-Native Speakers at Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, and the membership of Prof. Dr. Hazem Rashid, Dean of the Faculty of Education and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Center and Prof. Dr. Abdel Nasser Rashad, Vice Dean of the College of Education for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Helen Ayyad Bishara, director of the center and head of the joint master's program between Ain Shams and Leipzig universities, on the Egyptian side, and Dr. Basem Shuaib, Deputy Director of the Center and Program Coordinator, Ms. Isabelle Meiring, Director of the Office of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Cairo, and Mr. Sebastian Wouter, Regional Director of the Language Studies Department at the Goethe-Institute (German Cultural Centre).

         
   
         

The meeting was also attended by Ms. Dalia Shalaby, Director of the Department of Educational Cooperation at the Goethe-Institut, and from Leipzig University in Germany via video conference Prof. Dr. Christian Vanderich, Head of the Joint Master's Program on the German side.

At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh welcomed the members of the Council and all the attendees. Then the meeting dealt with the presentation of the Center's performance report on the previous periods and the future plan to be achieved. Topics related to the Center's activities and the joint master's program were also discussed.

         
   
         

Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh stressed the importance of cooperation with supporting agencies and partner institutions and interest in preparing new cadres and developing the capabilities of faculty members in German language departments through training programs in cooperation with German universities.

At the closing of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh presented a book on the history of the Saffron Palace to the Regional Director of the Goethe-Institute, and souvenir photos were taken for all the attendees.
