Within the framework of cooperation between Ain Shams University and the leadership of the Popular Defense Forces and the military, and in the interest of the community service and environmental development sector at Ain Shams University to enhance belonging and loyalty to the homeland, the sector organized a visit to the Air Force Museum, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, and headed by Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and coordinated by Prof. Dr. Gehan Rajab, Professor of Marketing at the Faculty of Business and Advisor to the Vice President for Community Service Affairs And the development of the environment in cooperation with the leadership of the Popular Defense Forces and the military represented by the Department of Military Education at the university, and the supervision of Mr. Suhail Hamza, the assistant secretary of the university for community service and environmental development affairs.
This comes with the participation of the university Faculties, the Faculty of Graduate Studies for Childhood, the Faculty of Al-Alsun, the Faculty of Business, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Girls, the Faculty of Education, and the Faculty of Environmental Studies and Research.
The visit started from the main museum lobby, which contains an integrated model of the museum, followed by an outside tour of the aircraft exhibition, which includes a group of aircraft that were attached to the Egyptian Air Force and participated in various military battles. The university delegation rode a fixed plane and watched a documentary film about the Air Force.
The external exhibition tour was followed by an internal tour, where the history of the Air Force and its development stages were reviewed. The audience watched an exhibition of the military fornication of the Air Force and its leaders since its inception, and listened to an explanation of the way planes work. The indoor exhibition hall also contained murals of the war battles and an exhibition on the Mansoura Air Battle. In the 1973 war, which is ranked among the largest air battles in terms of the number of participating aircraft and the longest in terms of time, estimated at 53 minutes, and a model for the military meeting room, as well as the internal exhibition hall contained glimpses of the Egyptian people’s celebration of the October victories and the headlines of the newspapers at the time celebrating the victory.
The Martyrs’ Hall was also visited, which contains the names and pictures of the Air Force martyrs who sacrificed themselves for the homeland, where the visitors read Quran for their pure souls. This was followed by watching a documentary film about Egypt’s tourist attractions scattered in its various governorates through the atmosphere of a flight where the film was broadcast through displays inside the plane.
After the external and internal tour, the attendees gathered in the Glory Hall, which includes pictures of the leaders of the Air Force since its inception until now, where a documentary film about the Air Force under the title (Eagles of the Sky) was watched, followed by a seminar entitled “In love with Egypt” in the presence of Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, who in his speech thanked the leadership of the Popular Defense Forces and the military for this generous invitation, stressing that organizing these visits works to increase awareness and belonging to members of the faculty and the supporting body, indicating the need for the Students visit these places that reflect the sacrifices made by the heroes of this country, which consolidates belonging and loyalty.
He also called for organizing a series of seminars for university students in cooperation with the armed forces to raise awareness of the dangers of fourth-generation wars and how to confront them to preserve identity and raise the spirit of belonging and loyalty.
Major General Magdy Dowaidar, Director of the Air Force Museum, began his speech by welcoming the attendees and conveying the greetings of Lieutenant-General Muhammad Abbas Helmy, Commander of the Air Force, stressing that the Air Force Museum is a cultural beacon to spread awareness and carries a message that we have an honorable history, pointing out that the museum's role is to participate in the battle of forming awareness and consolidating the concept of Egyptian nationalism and identity.
Then, Major General Dr. Hassan Mohamed Hassan, one of the eagles of the Air Force and a hero of the glorious October War, who received the Sinai Star of the first class, spoke about the concept of war and the emergence of strategy, rehabilitation and preparation for war. He also touched on the 82 fighter squadron and its role in the October 1973 war.

Hesham Al-Halaby, the advisor at the Nasser Higher Military Academy, one of the Eagles of the Air Force, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Middle East Research Center at Ain Shams University, mentioned the term virtual war, its fields of application, and the variables that led to its emergence, stressing that the rapid developments of technology pose a challenge to the current concepts of national security and force us to review its basic vocabulary.
He also talked about the digital weapon and the traditional weapon, pointing out that the traditional weapon targets the military field, while the digital weapon targets all areas of national security, hence its danger.
At the end of his speech, he stressed that we should all be aware of the challenges, threats, strengths and opportunities available, stressing that preserving the Egyptian identity is the responsibility of all of us.
At the end of the meeting, Major General Magdy Dweder honored Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Gehan Ragab, Professor of Marketing at the Faculty of Business and Advisor to the Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and the Director of Military Education at Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Hisham Tamraz honoring Major General Magdy Dowaidar and gifting him the university shield.
Major General Pilot Hassan Muhammad Hassan and Major General Pilot Hesham Al-Halabi from Prof. Dr. Hisham Tamraz and Major General Magdy Dwaider were also honored.
The day's activities concluded with listening to the opera singer Saeed Othman, who entertained the audience with a set of patriotic songs.
