Within the framework of the activities of the cultural season for the year 2021-2022 of the Center for Middle East Research and Future Studies at Ain Shams University, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Matini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Center, and Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mouns, Director of the Center , The Middle East Research and Future Studies Center held a workshop to present the book: Arab National Security "Challenges and Solutions" by Ahmed Hammadi, a researcher in political science.

The book was discussed by Major General Staff Mahmoud Khalifa, Adviser to the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States for Military Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Nagah Al Rayes, Professor of Political Science at the Faculty of Politics and Economics at Beni Suef University.

The activities of the workshop were initiated by Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mounis, Director of the Center, where he delivered an opening speech in which he welcomed the distinguished attendees, during which he mentioned the concept of national security and its importance to achieving the strategic interests of the state, ensuring its sovereignty and protecting its freedoms and political and economic independence. which has been loosened over the years and has not succeeded in withstanding the various challenges it faced; He represented the United Arab Republic between Egypt and Syria in 1958 and the unions of Arab republics, which included Syria, Egypt and Libya in 1971, as well as the Arab Cooperation Council, which included Egypt, Iraq, North Yemen and Nahl as a result of the second Gulf War in 1991.

His Excellency pointed out that there are only two successful attempts at union in the Arab world, namely the union of the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf Cooperation Council, which includes six Arab countries.

In contrast, we find many successful and fruitful models of union and integration that bring together the countries of the European continent at the various cultural, economic, strategic and political levels. Like the European Common Market and the European Union

Dr. Monis explained the most important reasons and factors of success and failure facing any attempt to unite between countries.

Hence the importance of the book (Arab National Security "Challenges and Solutions"), which we are reviewing today, as the writer tries to find practical solutions to achieve Arab national security and overcome all the challenges that prevent it.

After the opening speech of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mounis, the writer Ahmed Hammadi reviewed the most important chapters of his book, its purpose and importance in view of the urgent and necessary need to revive Arab national security and formulate a new concept that rebuilds its foundations and makes it applicable and adaptable to the international and regional changes taking place around the Arab world. The political researcher, Professor Hammadi, reviewed the concept of national security and Arab national security, the mechanisms for achieving it and the challenges it faces, and how to find appropriate and practical solutions to overcome such challenges through cooperation and joint action among all Arab countries at all political, economic, social and strategic levels.

After completing a review of the most important elements contained in his book, His Excellency Major General Staff Mahmoud Khalifa commented on the book, where the military advisor to the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and the former Governor of the New Valley stressed that cultural responsibility rests with the ministries of culture, Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and the Church, and must To spread more awareness and knowledge among the people to raise awareness of the importance of Egyptian and Arab national security, we are in the stage and era of the word that has more power than nuclear forces, ammunition, regardless of its type, affects the place of its release only, but the word destroys generations and peoples, and rumor wars are good. Evidence for this, pointing out that instability and wars result in divisions and fragmentation within a single state, which is what happened during the First World War and resulted in the occupation of Arab countries, until the Arab peoples united and resisted for independence until they obtained it.

This was followed by the speech of Prof. Dr. Najah Al Rayes, who praised the great effort made by the writer to bring to us this valuable book because of its importance in light of the political atmosphere and the current challenges that surround the Arab world. His Excellency also highlighted the importance of achieving Arab national security and the need for concerted efforts, governmental and popular, at all levels to achieve a solid Arab national security that can serve as a strong basis for the progress and advancement of Arab countries.

The workshop witnessed the presence of a group of politicians, headed by His Excellency Minister Muhammad Al-Orabi, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, and a large group of military leaders, politicians and religious symbols, such as HG Bishop Jeremiah, head of the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center, and the event was covered by Mi Sat TV.
