The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research reviewed a report submitted by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Deputy Minister for University Affairs, about organizing field visits for students of artificial intelligence faculties and departments in government universities to smart new cities, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

The report indicated that the aim of these visits is to familiarize students with work, operation and maintenance systems; To provide them with the necessary expertise in the context of linking graduates to the labor market, and to qualify students to keep pace with the needs of the labor markets, whether at the local or international level, and to benefit from their potential, direct their abilities, and implement their ideas and applications in various fields.

The report indicated that the first visit included delegations from four universities: (Cairo, Ain Shams, Helwan, Damanhour), to visit a number of smart cities: The Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC), the National Council for Artificial Intelligence (NACAI), the Data Center.

During these visits, the students listened to an explanation about the objectives of each site and project, and the extent of benefiting from modern technologies that keep pace with global technological developments, which the Egyptian state established in line with the sustainable development plan, which all state institutions strive to achieve their goals.

At the conclusion of the visit, the students expressed their happiness at providing such field visits, which allow them to get acquainted with the state's projects, especially those related to their scientific studies.

It is scheduled to hold two visits per week, for 8 weeks, to cover the largest number of faculties of artificial intelligence in public universities at the level of the Republic.

It is worth noting that many other visits for artificial intelligence students are being prepared for smart cities in the New Administrative Capital and El Alamein City, in coordination with the Ministry of Housing.
