The Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University organized its first student conference, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Nasser Abdel Aal, Vice Dean of Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Attia, Vice Dean of Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Dr. Yomna Safwat, Vice Dean of Community Service and Environmental Development, and in the presence of the heads of the various scientific departments, the faculty staff, the assistant staff, and students of the faculty from different academic levels, as well as the opening of a channel via video conferencing technology to communicate with the rest of the faculty students who could not attend.
Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, stressed during her opening speech that transparency in presenting full information to faculty staff, the assistant staff, and faculty students is necessary in order to achieve the public interest of the educational institution and to advance it.
She went on to point out that the management of human and material resources for the leadership in the institution is the most important pillar through which the dean can determine the extent to which his ambition can be achieved and the application of his management method for the faculty, she continued, stressing that setting clear mechanisms to increase financial resources to support the main income of the faculty aims to secure the faculty's needs and requirements to serve the educational process and improve all its sectors to provide the best services to support the main objective of the educational process outputs in all its aspects.
She continued her speech, stressing that the development of new specialized programs that contribute to the preparation of human cadres with distinguished efficiency to meet the requirements of the labor market, that was the main idea of creating these programs, in addition to that these programs with expenses were one of the most important sources of strengthening the faculty's income to achieve a budget capable of achieving Fully develop the infrastructure of the faculty to serve the students of the semester system and the credit-hour system.
She emphasized that the idea of developing advanced programs necessitated the establishment of new halls of the latest international style to provide educational services that keep pace with the labor market for Egyptian and foreign students of the faculty. The university administration supported the idea of the project with all available means of support, headed by Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Al-Metini, President of the University, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President of Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Dr. Hisham Temraz, Vice President of Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, in cooperation with the University's Engineering Consultation Center headed by Prof. Dr. Yasser Mujahid, Director of the Center, in record time within 45 days during the emerging Corona pandemic, from the establishment of 19 classrooms equipped with the latest educational technologies in the world, to accommodate new students with credit hour programs starting from the first semester of the academic year 2020-2021.
She went on to explain that the faculty administration's ambition did not stop there to increase the faculty's financial resources, so the university administration supported the faculty's request to establish three electronic halls of the latest international style, aimed at conducting electronic exams, and indeed it was accomplished in cooperation with the University's Engineering Consultation Center in less than Three months and providing it with the latest international technological devices, with a capacity to serve 795 students, and it was linked to the servers of the Ministry of Higher Education to become a beacon to attract international educational institutions to take their exams in those halls.
This resulted in holding the international exam for the Korean language in it, in addition to conducting a number of preliminary agreements with other international institutions such as the British Council and the Russian Cultural Center in Cairo to hold IELTS exams in the electronic exam halls at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, in addition to hosting the exams of the Faculty of Nursing to hold their exams completely in those halls.
She pointed out that these proactive steps to secure additional sources of income for the faculty, enabled it to provide financial resources capable of developing the infrastructure of the faculty and carrying out comprehensive reforms that expanded to develop the water drainage network and solve the problem of the faculty drowning, which was almost exposed to it during the period of heavy rain that the country was exposed to during the two years. In addition to completing a contract with the largest company in the world to change the faculty’s electricity generators after it was dilapidated, work is also underway to create a place to accommodate faculty students to provide room for their breathing and spend their free time between their lectures in the latest style.
She continued her speech, noting that the management of the Corona crisis necessitated high flexibility to deal with the repercussions of the crisis, as a huge electronic platform was created to serve the educational process, in addition to the successful implementation of the university administration's instructions to announce and correct the results electronically.
She stressed that these successes achieved by the faculty are the fruits of the effort exerted in cooperation and integration between all members of the faculty administration, department heads, faculty members and the supporting staff under difficult circumstances to transform the ordeal into a grant, with the aim of providing the best educational services to faculty students at all stages and also achieving the principle of equal opportunities. Between students of the semester system and the credit hour system.
During the meeting, the faculty representatives presented the services provided by their various sectors in detail, and explained how students can benefit from all the services provided to them in the short and long term, as well as a direct meeting with Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Nasser Abdel Aal, Vice Dean of Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Ashraf Attia, Vice Dean of Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Yomna Safwat, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and heads of departments, with students to answer their inquiries and closely identify their problems and develop radical solutions to them.
