On Monday, March 14, 2022 AD, the Board of the Faculty of Archeology at Ain Shams University held its sixth monthly meeting in Dr. Alaa Fayez room at the Saffron Palace, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, headed by Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Al-Damaty, Dean of the Faculty, and the membership of Prof. Dr. Hossam Tantawy, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Shawki, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies Affairs, and members of the Council from within, Dr. Zahi Hawass, the former Minister of Antiquities, as a member from abroad.
The Dean of the Faculty began the meeting by congratulating the attendees on the occasion of the second semester and the approaching month of Ramadan, wishing everyone good luck and payment. The Dean of the Faculty to decide on the completion of the urgent necessary work, approval of the standards and specifications of the examination paper for the mid-term exams of the second semester, the plan for field exercises and scientific visits to the five Faculty programs, the plan of student activities for the months of February and March, the dates of lectures during the blessed month of Ramadan, and approval of the list of the Digitization Program and preservation of the epigraphic heritage for postgraduate studies with Philips Marburg University in Germany, and organizing a celebration on March 21 entitled “Egyptian Women’s Day,” and a visit to the “Basmat al-Hayat” orphanage in Abbasiya on April 1, coinciding with the Orphan’s Day, and to add a new activity to the activities of the Bardi Center Under the name of "Museum Consultation and Training", and the approval of the descriptions and matrices of studies courses Graduate School for the second semester, forming a committee to prepare the Faculty’s strategic plan, and preparing a questionnaire guide.
This was followed by the presidency of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, for the meeting, beginning his speech by thanking Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Al-Damaty, Dean of the Faculty, for his role in establishing the Faculty of Archeology and preparing for it, and for the efforts he has made and is still making in order to put it on the right path and in the ranks of the major Faculties. They meet the conditions, and His Excellency supervised this procedure in full, and confirmed that it was recorded in the minutes of the council meeting.
