Discussing the graduation projects of the third batch students in the specialized professional diploma in remote sensing and geographic information systems

These discussions were held in the conference room of the Network and Information Systems Center at Ain Shams University, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Rasha Bunduq, diploma coordinator from Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Ghada Atta, diploma coordinator from the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, Prof. Dr. Noha Samir, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research, Hazem Rashid, Dean of the Faculty of Education at the university, Prof. Dr. Rasha Ismail, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs. Prof. Dr. Islam Hegazy, Director of the University's Networking Center, Prof. Dr. Omar Abdel Salam Kandil, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, Prof. Dr. Wiam Mahmoud, Vice President of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the university, heads of scientific divisions at the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, and a group of faculty staff.

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, stressed that the cooperation between Ain Shams University and the National Authority for Remote Sensing represents a model to be followed, wishing for continued fruitful cooperation between the two parties, thanking the young researchers for their distinguished projects.

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Bayoumi Zahran thanked Ain Shams University and its leadership for what they provided to enrich scientific research, expressing his happiness for the successful cooperation between the university and the authority, stressing that all the capabilities of the authority are available to all researchers from Ain Shams University.

His Excellency referred to the role of the university and its open administration to support the professional diploma, stressing the importance of remote sensing in all fields, as there is no place in Egypt that does not depend on remote sensing and this does not happen without qualified graduates who deal professionally and professionally, so the diploma is one of the most successful programs that were developed with Ain Shams University.

He explained that the cooperation between the authority and the university in the coming period will witness a remarkable transformation, as the system will be transferred instead of a single professional program to Ain Shams Nars Academic (for specialized diplomas) for education in line with the labor market in accordance with the state's directions for development and scientific research.

         
   
         

As explained by Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh that the cooperation between Ain Shams University and the Sensor Authority is constructive cooperation and has broad and limitless prospects, stressing the university’s keenness in the coming period to continue the continuous and joint cooperation between the university and the Sensor Authority and foreign countries, praising the excellence of previous research graduation projects that cover all aspects of activities and colleges from the Faculty of (Archaeology, Engineering, Medicine, Agriculture, Environment), as well as the distinction of the professors supervising these projects.

During the events, the success partners of the diploma faculty who participated in teaching and supervising projects and control work since the first batch until now were honored:

Prof. Dr. Ayman Ragab, Professor of Surveying and Aerial Photography, Director of Surveying Engineering Studies and Consultations Unit, Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Attia Bakhit, Emeritus Professor at the Department of Aerial Photography at the National Authority for Remote Sensing, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Shaarawy, Emeritus Professor and Supervisor of the Land Survey Department at the National Authority for Remote Sensing, Prof. Dr. Kamel Mustafa Kamel, Assistant Professor of Economic Geography and Geographic Information Systems, Faculty of Education, Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr.. Marwa El-Sayed Mostafa is a research professor at the National Authority for Remote Sensing.

Distinguished graduates of the diploma, who were able to leave clear imprints in their field of work, were also honored, in addition to honoring the first student in the third batch.

Prof. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, gifted the shield of Ain Shams University to Prof. Dr. Mohamed Bayoumi Zahran, and memorial photos were taken.

         
   
         

After that, a video was shown for the stages of preparing the graduation projects, and the two projects submitted by the students were discussed by specialists. The first project came under the title: Creating a health risk map for an area that brings together Ain Shams University hospitals using GIS techniques and remote sensing, and the second project is to create a model for digital transformation. Agricultural Data (an electronic platform for Salhia Farm).

The jury praised the level of the submitted projects.
