Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, inaugurated the activities of the “A B political “seminar organized by the community service and environmental development sector at the university, in cooperation with the Faculty of Education, within the framework of the university’s cultural and artistic season, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Hazem Rashid, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. Gehan Rajab, Advisor to the Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr.. Radwan Hammouda, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Jamal Shakra, Professor of Modern and Contemporary History and University Adviser for Political and Strategic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hala Mahmoud Khalaf, Head of the History Department at the Faculty of Education, Mr. Suhail Hamza, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and a group of faculty deputies and faculty staff.
The seminar hosted Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, M. Dr. Ali El-Din Hilal, former Minister of Youth and Major General A. h. Nasr Salem, former head of the Survey Authority and professor of strategic sciences, and moderated the symposium. Dr. Heba Shaheen, director of the university's media center, participated in the student organization of the symposium, "Family for Central Egypt".
During his speech, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, expressed his happiness with the university’s guests, who are considered a beacon of thought and culture, and who have a prominent role in building the thought and culture of Egyptian youth in a sound manner in light of the challenges and confused ideas that target them.
He stressed the importance of such seminars in educating students about their different studies, whether scientific or human, and raising their minds so that they become a model for the educated young man.
On his part, Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz said that “A B political” seminar is one of the forms of developing the thought and awareness of Egyptian students and youth, which is the wealth of society and the hope of Egypt, and stressed the university's responsibility for shaping students' thought and culture in various fields.
Dr. Moustafa El-Feki stressed during his speech the necessity of students’ interest in knowledge and access to various sciences, as the broad and different knowledge provides the individual with more choices that distinguish him from others and help him in deciding his destiny and history.
Al-Fiqi also dealt with the issue of choice and its importance in determining human destiny, touching on his life experience and his gradation in political and diplomatic life.
Prof. Dr. Ali Al-Din Hilal pointed out that interest in history is what distinguishes man, whether family history or the history of the homeland. He also addressed the concept of the word politics and touched on its sections, including internal and foreign policy, education and work, stressing that there is no room outside the framework of the policy set by the state and that Mr. in The state is the constitution.
Major General Nasr Salem stressed that educating young people is a strategy for defending the homeland with thought and culture, especially in the intellectual and information wars that we are waging in the current stages, and that this is no less important than possessing military power.
Prof. Dr. Hazem Rashid pointed out that the role of the university is not limited to the educational and research role, but extends to the enlightenment role of society through educating and raising the level of awareness of students, especially political and historical awareness.
Prof. Dr. Gamal Shakra History of the “A B politics” within the university to spread awareness and historical and political culture for students, as it is one of the roles of university professors, who have the responsibility to serve their communities, noting that as a history professor interested in spreading political and historical awareness, especially in light of the youth’s need for that to confront the misconceptions that Promote it on social media.
At the end of the session, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, gifted the university shield to Prof. Dr. Ali El Din Hilal and Dr. Mustafa Al-Feki and Major General staff of war Nasr Salem and Prof. Dr. Gamal Shakra in appreciation of their efforts in spreading awareness, thought and culture in the community.
