The convoy of the Faculty of Specific Education presents its services to thousands of the people of Qalyubia Governorate

In the interest of Ain Shams University to establish the principle of social parity and based on the social responsibility of Ain Shams University, the Faculty of Specific Education, Ain Shams University launched the comprehensive development caravan in the villages of Tel Bani Tamim and Silman Al War in Qalyubia Governorate, under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Major General Abdel Hamid El-Hagan, Governor of Qalyubia, and Prof. Dahsham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environment Affairs, Prof. Gehan Ragab, Advisor to the Vice President for Community Service and Environment Affairs, Under the supervision of Prof. Osama El-Sayed, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, Prof. Amr Khalil, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environment Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Nabi, General Coordinator of the Convoy, and Director of the Adult Education Unit at the College and Mr. Suhail Hamza, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, in cooperation with the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, and Pharmacy, the University’s Adult Education Center and the General Authority for Adult Education.

         
   
         

The activities of the comprehensive development convoy included five themes: the medical theme, the educational and technical theme, the provision of social aid, the illiteracy eradication theme, and the awareness campaigns theme.

Where the convoy provided its medical services to 780 beneficiaries from the people of the two villages through clinics of ophthalmology, internal medicine, dentistry, dermatology, children, nose and ear, and brain and nerves, along with providing them with the necessary medicines. Blood pressure, sugar and weight measurement services were also provided to 350 beneficiaries. In addition, 1,500 citizens benefited from the awareness campaign, which included a seminar on how to preserve teeth under the supervision of the College of Dentistry, and seminars on first aid and healthy nutrition under the supervision of the College of Nursing.

 
         
   
         

The Adult Education Center also presented a symposium on the importance of education. Placement tests were conducted for more than 84 individuals, and classes were opened for more than 34 students from the two villages, in cooperation with the General Authority for Adult Education at the university. Several activities were also implemented to develop cultural and artistic awareness among children, under the supervision of the Faculty of Specific Education, which are workshops for children to teach printing on textiles, and workshops for children to teach drawing, and (wood color sketchbooks) were distributed to children.

           
         
   
         

During the social assistance axis, a clothing campaign was launched, 2050 pieces of clothing were distributed to the villagers, and 500 cartons of food aid and gifts were distributed to the children.
