The Faculty of Archeology at Ain Shams University launched the " Be Environmentally Friendly " initiative, as part of the world's celebrations of International Earth Day on April 22, the initiative was launched under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Hisham Temraz, Vice President of Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Mamdouh El-Damaty, Dean of the Faculty of Archeology, and Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Shawky, Vice Dean of Graduate Studies and Research, supervisor of the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector, under the supervision of Dr. Sawsan Issa, supervisor of environmental projects management and community service, and Dr. Rasha El-Mofatish, managing director.
The initiative started today with members of the administration giving awareness speeches to introduce Earth Day and the need to preserve the environment and the need to pay attention to recycling, the lectures were interactive with students, faculty staff and employees in the various departments of the faculty, and awareness leaflets were announced and distributed in the various faculties. The administration announced the imminent announcement of environmental competitions on the art of recycling, and others for photography interested in photographing nature to enhance the artistic sense of students and attract their interest to the landscapes and trees scattered inside the campus, and the formation of a team of students "Be Environmentally Friendly Team" that practices environmental culture and spreads environmental awareness in the society.
