Activities of the Indian Language and Culture Day Festival at the Faculty of Arts

The Faculty of Arts at Ain Shams University represented by the Department of Oriental Languages ​​organized the “Indian Language and Culture Day Festival” under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Mortada, Dean The faculty, supervised by Prof. Dr. Rania Mohamed Fawzy, head of the department, and prepared by Dr. Marwa Lutfi Salah, Urdu and Hindi language teacher.

In the presence of Prof. Dr. Sherine Mazloum, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Saeed Al-Sabbagh, the cultural activity coordinator in the department, and a large number of professors and students, as the activities of the day began with the Egyptian and Indian republican national anthem.

The conversation started with Dr. Gulnaz Abdul Majeed, teacher of the Hindi language in the department, where she gave a greeting speech to Egypt and the Egyptians, and valued the efforts of scientific and cultural cooperation, and praised the quality of Hindi language teaching in the department and the students' mastery of it, which indicates interest in the matter of learning and education.

Then Dr. Abdul Majeed, the Urdu language teacher in the department, expressed his happiness at celebrating the 20th anniversary of the accession of the Urdu language to the rest of the eastern languages ​​such as Persian and Turkish, and now the Hindi language is joining them.

         
   
         

He explained that Hindi and Urdu are two sides of the same coin, and called for increased cooperation to learn and master the Hindi language at the highest and most comprehensive levels.

In her word Dr. Rania Mohamed Fawzy expressed her happiness with this celebration, which shows the depth of Egyptian-Indian relations. They are the two oldest civilizations known to history, and their links are deeply rooted.

She pointed out that the Department of Oriental Languages at the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, has prepared a specialized program in the Hindi language, which is the first specialized program in this language, whose purpose is to benefit the labor market with specialized students who keep abreast of the latest developments in Indian language studies, such as press and electronic translation and the translation of audio and video programs, especially that Egypt India and India have great political and economic relations.

The festival’s shows, which were created by the department’s students in Hindi, varied, including: reciting poetry, where the teaching assistant, Asmaa Yasser, recited a poem she composed, as well as in the field of story and articles, and presenting a previously prepared theatrical sketch that was shown on the screen on tourism and antiquities in Egypt. The paragraphs won the audience’s admiration.

At the conclusion of the celebration, "Fawzi" thanked the attendees and the students, and also thanked Dr. Gulnaz Abdul Majeed and Dr. Marwa Lutfi for the great effort they made with our students to bring out this day on this wonderful picture.

She expressed her happiness with these young talents, wishing them success in what is to come in their lives.

She thanked each of Tasnim Wael, Mahmoud Hussein, Moroug Alaa, Iman Ahmed Salem and Ahmed Yunus, who took upon themselves the responsibility of preparing for this ceremony and coordinating to bring out this day on this honorable picture.

Then certificates of appreciation were distributed to the students participating in the celebration.
