The Faculty of Law, Ain Shams University, concluded the workshop on “How to prepare a PhD research proposal in accordance with international academic standards”, which was organized by the Faculty’s International Cooperation Office over three working sessions from May 25 to June 1, 2022.
The workshop targeted members of the teaching assistants, assistant teachers, and the lectures in the workshop were delivered by Dr. Shahd Al-Hammoury, a law teacher at the University of Kent in Britain, who holds a doctorate in law from the University of Manchester, a master’s degree in law from the University of Paris, and a BA from the University of Jordan.
The workshop was facilitated and the dialogue moderated by Dr. Ahmed Fathi Khalifa, Director of the International Cooperation Office at the Faculty.
The workshop was divided into three lectures, which discussed many topics on: how to prepare and write a research proposal, how to formulate research problems and hypotheses, clarify the importance of research and how to build a research question.
The talk touched on the development of research methodology in legal sciences and the emergence of new types of research approaches that are concerned with interdisciplinary and linking law with social sciences in general.
This workshop comes in light of the faculty administration's constant endeavor to develop education and legal research and support activities that link the college with international standards and quality standards at all levels.
The interest of the faculty administration in this workshop was manifested in the reception of the faculty administration headed by Dr. Mohamed Safi, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Ain Shams University, Dr. Mohamed El-Shafei, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Yassin El-Shazly, Vice Dean for Community and Environmental Affairs, and Dr. Ahmed Ali Dahoum, Director of the English Division, for the visiting lecture on the first working day of the workshop.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Safi, Dean of the College and the Vice-Deans attended the last day of the workshop, and the Dean honored Dr. Shahd Al-Hammouri, and presented her with the college shield and a certificate of appreciation for the effort she exerted.
