Prof. Dr. Ashraf Omar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University, on behalf of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, received an African delegation headed by Prof. Bakri Saeed Othman, President of the Association of African Universities and President of Sudan International University, which included Prof. Innocent Ujah, President of the Federal University of Medical Sciences in Otukpo, National President of the Nigeria Medical Association, Prof. Alnefeti Aliu Osman, President of Gombe City University, and Prof. Inupong Ekbime, Dean of the College of Medical Sciences in Oyo to discuss ways of cooperation between the Council of Nigerian University Presidents and Ain Shams University in the field of basic medical sciences and scientific research to provide support to universities Nigerian.
The meeting was coordinated by Prof. Dr. Amani Abdullah Al-Sharif, Director of the Regional Office of the Association of African Universities for North Africa and Vice President of the Pan African University.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Shahira Samir, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector at the university, Prof. Dr. Osama Mansour, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Heba Allah Saeed, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Samia Abdo, Deputy Director of University Hospitals and Director of Infection Control at Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Ghannam, Director of the Academy of Cardiovascular Diseases and Surgery at Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Tamer Emara, Professor of Neurology and Director of Scientific and International Relations at Ain Shams University Faculty of Medicine, and Prof. Dr. Hani Dabbous, Professor of Gastroenterology, Liver and Optometry at Ain Shams Medicine.
On the sidelines of the visit, the delegation conducted an inspection tour of the College of Medicine, as well as the Al-Binhawi and Al-Mahlawi auditorium and the computer labs.
