Within the strategy of Ain Shams University to reach the best medical service provided to patients, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Omar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Chairman of the University Hospitals Board of Directors, and Prof. Dr. Ali Al-Anwar, Executive Director of University Hospitals, a medical team from the Cardiovascular Diseases and Surgery Hospital at Ain Shams University visited the Royal Brompton Hospital in London from 22/5/2022 to 29/5/2022, within the framework of activating the joint cooperation protocol between the Faculty of Medicine Ain Shams University and Royal Brompton Hospital, London, United Kingdom.
The team consists of Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Ghannam, director of the Cardiovascular Diseases and Surgery Hospital, as team leader, Prof. Dr. Faisal Amr Murad, Assistant Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Prof. Dr. Diaa El Din Kamal, Assistant Professor of Cardiovascular Diseases, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Zaki, Assistant Professor of Vascular Surgery, Dr. Fadel Hassan Al-Qadi, an industrial cardiologist at the hospital, Amani Zaghloul, a nurse at the hospital, Cardiac surgery care, and Amal Mahmoud, a cardiac surgery nurse at the hospital.
The medical team attended a number of complicated aortic replacement surgeries, including cases that had previously had heart surgery (Rado surgery).
In the field of cardiovascular diseases, the team attended cases of Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), as well as repair of the mitral valve.
The team also participated in a number of multiple practical meetings and discussed the plan for continuing cooperation between the two sides throughout the partnership period.
The medical team also visited the diagnostic center of the Royal Brompton Hospital (whimpole streat).
The heart tests were carried out in this center, as well as the reception clinics for special cases.
At the end of the visit, the members of the Royal Brompton team expressed their happiness and thanks to the medical team at Ain Shams University for the scientific and training level of excellence shown by all members of the medical team of the Cardiovascular Diseases and Surgery Hospital at Ain Shams University.
