The Department of Communication and Media Sciences at the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, won the award for the best animation design for the "The Journey" project, which was participated in the Asteroid Egypt initiative competition launched by the Egyptian Space Agency.
The department participated under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Mostafa Mortada, Dean of the Faculty of Arts.
The project was implemented by students in the department: Rawan Magdy Bahgat, Lamis Hisham Abdel Ghaffar, Rana Yahya Zakaria, Amira Muhammad Al-Badawi, Maryam Ismail Muhammad Muhy, Omnia Al-Sayed Abu Al-Khair, Youssef Amr Al-Sayed Ibrahim, Yahya Ahmed Ali Ahmed, Nour Muhammad Taha Afifi, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Heba Shaheen and Esraa Muhammad Ramadan, teaching assistant in the department.
Faculties and departments of media in public and private Egyptian universities participated in the Asteroid Egypt competition, which was organized under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Kosy, CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency, and coordinated by Ms. Haya Youssef, the agency's media coordinator.
Prof. Dina Farouk Abu Zeid, head of the Department of Communication and Media Sciences, stated that the university and department are in the process of honoring the winning students and faculty members who supervise the project.
