The President of Ain Shams University meets the students of the Faculty of Business who received the American Chicago scholarship

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Khaled Kadri, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Prof. Dr. Hayam Wahba, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs and coordinator of the cooperation program between the University of Chicago and Ain Shams University, students met with returnees from the Chicago grant during the previous year 2021/2022, as well as students who won the grant and are scheduled to travel for the academic year 2022/2023.

         
   
         

where Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini expressed his great happiness with the distinguished students of the university and the recipients of the scholarship to study at the University of Chicago from the children of the Faculty of Business in their various specializations, and he also commended all those responsible for the success of this agreement, especially the role played by Prof. Dr. Hayam Wahba, the coordinator of the agreement since the acceptance of the first group in 2019 until the acceptance of the last group for the fourth year in a row.

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini stressed, during his meeting with the students, the need to exchange experiences and positive experiences that students returning from this scholarship had with students wishing to engage in such an experience, and the importance of what students get from academic and life experiences and skills through agreements, grants and student exchange, which Ain Shams University took over special importance to him.

During the meeting, the students discussed the experience of traveling and studying at the University of Chicago, who talked about the most important advantages and experiences they gained during this experience, and they also thanked the university and Faculty administration for adopting and providing such opportunities for their students.

He also thanked the Sawiris Foundation for Development for its support of the scholarship program for student travel within the framework of the cooperation agreement between Ain Shams University represented by the Faculty of Business and the American University of Chicago.

         
   
         

It was directed by Prof. Dr. Khaled Kadry, Dean of the Faculty of Business, thanks the university administration for its continuous role in supporting students and researchers, which resulted in the students of the Faculty of Business receiving 50% of the total grants allocated from the Sawiris Foundation for Development this year.

As explained by Prof. Dr. Hayam Wahba, coordinator of the cooperation program between the University of Chicago and Ain Shams University, who said that, according to the terms agreed upon, 11 students from the first students at the Faculty of Commerce were nominated for the scholarship at the University of Chicago, where they underwent a number of tests and interviews, as well as providing an English language proficiency certificate. Which resulted in the acceptance of five students out of a total of ten grants available from Sawiris Foundation for Development to Egyptian universities to study a full year at the American University of Chicago, during which the students are scheduled to study 12 scientific courses equivalent to the courses of the fourth year in the field of finance and economics, knowing that this grant will allow these students may study some courses at the postgraduate level, in addition to entering into training programs inside and outside the university.

It is noteworthy that the University of Chicago is ranked among the top 10 universities in the world, and currently has more than 16,000 students enrolled in various faculties and programs in various fields of arts, sciences, business administration, and other different disciplines.
