Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Hisham Tamraz, Vice President of Community Service and Environmental Development, met with Prof. Dr. Nagwa Badr, Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, Prof. Dr. Hala Mushir, Vice Dean of Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Rasha Ismail, Vice Dean of Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, Prof. Dr. Tamer Mostafa, Vice Dean of Community Service and Environmental Development, and a group of professors from the Faculties of Engineering, Computer and Information Science, to present the engineering design of the new building of the Faculty of Computers and Information Science.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, said that the field of computer and information has become one of the most important fields in the world and in all universities and in the areas of digital transformation in particular, where most of the sciences and disciplines overlap with computers and information.
He emphasized that work has already been done to provide an appropriate work environment that keeps pace with the rapidly changing global developments to improve research projects through the establishment of modern buildings that keep pace with the latest scientific and research needs and are environmentally friendly.
He praised the excellence of Ain Shams University students and its scientific cadres and the importance of benefiting within the university from these young and early university cadres, as it is the priority for them to ensure the continuity of Ain Shams University's excellence and raise its status at the local and international levels and its global classification.
Prof. Dr. Hussein Farid reviewed the engineering design of the new faculty building, including laboratories, terraces, and halls, which were designed based on the requirements of the faculty professors.
Prof. Dr. Hussein Farid explained that this building will be constructed in accordance with international standards and taking into account the requirements of young cadres of students and researchers to be the first university government building to be fully implemented and designed by an Egyptian to obtain a (LEED) certificate, as it was designed to be five floors, and it also contains 12 laboratories that provide an opportunity Research and work for faculty students equipped with advanced computers.
It is worth mentioning that several questions and discussions were raised between professors, faculty members, and supervisors of the implementation of the design to exchange suggestions and amendments, which are in the interest of the Faculty of Computer and Information Science and students and ensure a distinguished educational service for students that keeps pace with the latest scientific and research developments in the world.
